Katy Perry-Orlando Bloom Couple Update: Why Korlando Is All But Confirmed
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been rumored to be dating for a while, but events that transpired over the past few days add a lot of credibility to the Perry-Bloom rumors and make it seem like the relationship between Orlando and Katie might be much more serious than some sources have led us to believe.
Last month, Orlando Bloom’s ex-wife Miranda Kerr had a one-on-one with magazine The Edit. She revealed that she and Orlando had agreed upon strict rules for her and Orlando’s love interests meeting their five-year-old son, Flynn. Specifically, she said that if either of them were dating someone (like, say, Katy Perry), they would need to have dated for at least six months before introducing him or her to Flynn.
This past weekend, though, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were spotted and photographed driving around together with little Flynn in tow. Orlando was driving, and Katy was in the back seat with Flynn, keeping him entertained.

As Yahoo News points out, this could mean one of three things, based on Miranda and Orlando’s rule.
1. Orlando and Katy have been dating for six months already. This seems like the most likely of the three possibilities, as Katy and Orlando have appeared very comfortable with each other in the handful of times they’ve been spotted together over the past month.
The first time Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry were spotted being intimate with each other was at the Golden Globes on January 10. Perry and Bloom were photographed talking at distances that definitely signaled intimacy, as well as grabbing a drink together and taking the party to the dancefloor. One look at the photographs of Katy and Orlando will show you what reports mean when they say the snaps suggest a longtime relationship, a source told Us Weekly.

“[Bloom and Perry] did look pretty close at the Golden Globes party,” writes Yahoo News. “Maybe that wasn’t when they hooked up. Maybe it was just when the public found out about it?”
Various sources report that Katy Perry and her new (purported) beau were seen together later that day at the Stella McCartney Autumn 2016 Presentation, at a show in Los Angeles a few weeks later, and at Orlando’s manager’s birthday party this past week. Just yesterday, they were added to a list of attendees for Global Green USA’s pre-Oscar party… and they’re going together.
2. Katy and Orlando don’t care about the rule he and Miranda set forth. This doesn’t seem too likely, as Bloom has been noted for his eloquence and politeness by sources such as Daily Mail in the past.
However, Us Weekly reports that the ongoing romance between Katy Perry and Orlando is just a fling.
“[Katie is] having fun with Orlando. I don’t think she’s seeing this as long-term yet. It’s a fun hookup thing right now,” a source told them this week.
If true, this would suggest Bloom is not always as restrained as he lets on.
First, take another look at Perry and Bloom’s photos together at the Golden Globes. They practically scream “romance.”
Second, single male and female celebrities (or any two single adults of opposite sexes, for that matter), especially ones with the notoriety of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, do not generally accompany each other to as many events as Katy and Orlando have been seen at without being romantically entwined. And if that were the case, Katie Perry and her “friend” Orlando would not try to keep their relationship a secret.
Third, neither Bloom nor Perry has come out and tried to dispel the rumors about them dating.
So it looks like Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom might really be a thing. Time will tell if and when they will come out on the public record and announce they are together. Maybe they’re waiting for Valentine’s Day?
