Kirsten Dunst Plays Supporting Role In Childhood Friend’s Wedding

Kirsten Dunst looked stunning as she filled out a demure bridesmaid’s dress over the weekend. Charmingly, this wasn’t just some costume in a wardrobe shoot for an upcoming film – Dunst was playing a real-life maid of honor role in her best friend’s wedding.

The 30-year-old Melancholia star played maid of honor for her childhood friend Molly’s wedding Sunday in Santa Barbara, California. Despite her star-power, the actress humbly relegated herself into the supporting role, not wanting to steal her buddy’s limelight, notes NY Daily. Though Dunst stepped to the side for the photographs, the actress looked gorgeous in her flowy pink-and-cream floor-length gown and a wreath of flowers adorning her hair. She seemed to be her usual, quirky self as well, chatting up the mother of the bride and making funny faces in pictures.

Sunday marked the close of Dunst’s maid-of-honor duties to her gal pal, all of which started earlier this year with a three-day bachelorette extravaganza in Mexico, at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, reports E!. They did typically girly stuff, including yoga on the beach, champagne dinners, and massages. You know, that actually sounds pretty good to me, too. Sorry about the “girly” crack.

In any case, Dunst may not want to retire her bridesmaid’s dress just yet, according to the Huffington Post. She’ll be starring in a new comedy titled Bachelorette in the fall after playing the bride herself in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia last year. Hopefully her friend’s marriage works out better than that of her fictional counterpart!

All kidding aside, IQ wishes Kirsten Dunst’s friend Molly all the happiness and congratulations in the world. Here are some pictures of Kirsten Dunst in her fabulous bridesmaid’s dress, alongside a radiant bride-to-be. What do you think?
