Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested Saturday in Texas for domestic violence, according to authorities.

Bryant, who is no stranger to trouble with the law, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence by the DeSoto Police Department, who confirmed the story with both the NFL Network and NFL.com. Bryant was contacted Monday by WFAA News 8 reporter Rebecca Lopez, but downplayed the incident, only saying “I’m good, I’m good,” in the brief phone interview.

Details of the arrest are scarce, with Bryant’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declining to comment when probed over the matter on Monday. DeSoto officials apparently will not release any records relating to the incident until Tuesday, notes USA Today.

Saturday’s domestic violence arrest marks the wide receiver’s second run-in with law enforcement officials in six months, who has had a string of off-field problems lately. He was detained and questioned by Miami police in January after a fight broke out at a South Beach nightclub. He was not arrested nor charged in the incident. Bryant also received a criminal trespass warning in March of 2011 after refusing to leave a Dallas shopping mall after off-duty police had ordered him to. Shortly after his run-in with the cops at the Dallas mall, Bryant was hit with legal troubles of a different kind when he was sued by a jeweler and ticket broker who said the Cowboys player owed over $600,000 for custom-made jewelry and tickets.

Bryant was the Cowboys’ first-round pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, finishing the 2011 season with more than 900 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He has recently been bragging about his upcoming third NFL season, but he performance as a player is being continually overshadowed by his behavior off the field.
