iHeartRadio Music Awards Nominations Announced — Taylor Swift, The Weekend, And Adele Leading The Nominations

The iHeartRadio Music Awards just announced their 2016 nominees, and it appears as though Taylor Swift is currently in the lead with the most nominations.

The nominees were announced on Tuesday, February 9, by iHeartMedia and Turner. Not only is Taylor Swift nominated in eight categories, she is also in the runs for the first ever “Female Artist of the Year” award. In years past, the artist of the year category was not split between males and females. This year’s awards will also feature genre-specific artist of the year awards, and Latin and regional Mexican music categories. Of the 31 categories, 21 of them are new to the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

“Our awards are not chosen by a mysterious panel of judges,” John Sykes, the president of iHeart Media’s Entertainment Enterprises, said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “They are a true reflection of the artists and songs our listeners supported all year long.”
