Is A Harry Styles Collaboration With Elton John In The Cards?

Harry Styles has had a very busy start to 2016. One Direction star Harry has already ditched his management team and his PR team in a move that looks very much like out with the old and in with the new. As One Direction’s much-publicized hiatus looms large, it seems certain that Harry is lining himself up for a career as a solo artist. It was reported in Inquisitr at new-year that Styles was enjoying a Caribbean break onboard a yacht with the music moguls, the Azoff family. It was becoming clear even at that stage that Harry was set to break with Modest Management and One Direction’s PR company, HJPR.

Fans of Harry and One Direction were delighted at Styles move, and are hoping that the rest of the band will follow suit. Of course, Harry’s management team played a part in the rise of One Direction, but they are widely despised by One Direction fans. Fans blame them for a host of PR stunts and for working Harry and his bandmates to the verge of collapse.

Some may see Harry’s move as a risky one, but Styles has selected his new team with a great deal of care. Azoff music management looks after the interests of some of the world’s biggest artists, including the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Bon Jovi. Styles has also engaged the services of Dawbell PR, the company that looks after his BFF, James Corden. What Styles has made clear is that he intends to be represented by people he trusts as he attempts to forge a solo career.

It is clear that Harry has engaged a top team and, as a result, he is unlikely to be lacking in quality advice, but should Styles need a friendly ear, it seems that Sir Elton John is more than happy to offer his services.

It seems that Elton is more than happy to offer Styles any help he can. Sir Elton has over half a century in the business, and has already helped the likes of Harry’s pal Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. According to the Daily Star, Sir Elton was chatting backstage after his sold out gig in Paris, France, when he suggested that he could act as an advisor to Styles.

“I’ve talked to a few of the One Direction boys. I’ve seen Harry a few times who is great and I’m always on hand to offer him advice.”

With an incredible 33 studio albums under his belt, there are few artists who would be better placed to give Harry a bit of friendly advice when it is needed.

Sugarscape reveals that Sir Elton has a pretty sound record when it comes to advising younger artists. When Ed Sheeran was catching a break, Elton advised him to take the opportunity to tour with Taylor Swift and to release “Sing” as his first single. That advice worked out pretty well for Sheeran, so maybe Harry would be well advised to follow his pal’s lead.

Harry’s former bandmate, Zayn Malik, has set the bar pretty high when it comes to launching his solo career. Zayn’s debut single has smashed the charts across the world, so Styles will be keen to emulate that success. Who knows, we could even see a collaboration between Elton John and Harry Styles. In recent years, we have seen some of the music business greats like Van Morrison and Sir Tom Jones release albums of duets with contemporary artists.

You would have to say that a collaboration between Harry and Elton would seem a more likely pairing than Lady Gaga’s tie up with the legendary Tony Bennett, and that pairing has won rave reviews across the world.
