The Gilmore Girls Are Back: See The First Pics From The ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival

We all knew that Netflix had confirmed the Gilmore Girls revival, but actually seeing the first pictures straight from the set is making things a bit more real. It’s official, and it’s actually happening. The Gilmore girls are back in Stars Hollow!

On Friday, February 5, Yanic Truesdale, known for his role as the grumpy manager Michel Gerard at both the Independence and Dragonfly Inns, shared an on-set photo with Lauren Graham, who plays the main character Lorelai Gilmore.

“First day back at the Inn with my old boss. Fun times!” Truesdale captioned the photo of the pair standing in front of the staircase at the Dragonfly Inn.

After Netflix made their announcement last week, Graham was the first of the original cast members to take to social media to share her excitement. Graham tweeted a picture of herself with a jacket she stole from the original set and captioned it as follows.

According to a previous report by the Inquisitr,Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons, from 2000 to 2007. Netflix’s revival of the show, which they are referring to as a miniseries and a “farewell season,” will feature four, 90-minute episodes, with each episode taking place during a different time of the year. Amy Sherman-Palladino, who left before the final season, will be writing and directing all four episodes with the help of her husband, fellow original producer Daniel Palladino. While the series does not have a title or premiere date yet, it doesn’t appear as though fans will have to wait too long to see what the Gilmore girls have been up to over the past nine years. In an Instagram post, Netflix wrote, “From Stars Hollow to Hartford to New Haven to Netflix. Welcome back, girls. An all new season of Gilmore Girls coming to Netflix in 2016.”

“We haven’t even started shooting and I haven’t even seen any of the scripts. So, all I can tell you is it is because of you, the devoted fans that I get to revisit this character and go back to this world,” Graham, 48, said in an exclusive video message to People Magazine. “And we are all so excited and so thankful.”

Along with Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory), who have already confirmed their return, other original characters will be heading back to the set as well including Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane), and Yanic Truesdale (Michel).

According to the Inquisitr,Matt Czuchry, the Good Wife star who played Rory’s boyfriend from seasons five through seven, will also be heading back to Stars Hollow to reprise his role as Logan Huntzberger. If you recall, the last time we saw Logan was when he was heading to California after Rory turned down his marriage proposal. While Matt is the first of Rory’s loves to sign on for the revival, Sherman-Palladino said she hopes to bring back as many of Rory’s old boyfriends as she can.

“Our plan is to get as many of [Rory’s] lovely men back as possible,” she said, but added that the deals were still being finalized. “We’re still dealing with who’s going to be in it. We definitely want to see them. And we have storylines planned. I just need someone to tell me they’re going to show up.”
