‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Relationships Tested — A Baby In Their Future or A New Man For Nina Clay?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease big drama is ahead for the residents in Port Charles. Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) were infiltrated into the storylines with the other core characters and seem pretty normal overall. The writers have written Nina to be calmer and level-headed; a much different Nina than was introduced to the audience two years ago.

Ever since Nina woke up from her 20 plus year nap, she has stated her dream of being a mother. Unfortunely, due to her mother’s carelessness with her overdose which led to her decades-long coma, Nina is unable to conceive a child of her own. The fact that she cannot conceive a child of her own doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to be a mother.

General Hospital spoilers stated that Nina decided to look into adoption as a way to become a mother, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported. She told Franco about her plans t adopt a child, and hoped he was on board to raise the child with her. Even though Nina cannot imagine life without Franco, if he wasn’t on board with the idea of adding a child to their little family unit, she would have to leave him. Nina isn’t willing to give up her desire to be a mother for anyone, not even Franco.

Nina tells Franco that she was looking to adopt and already contacted a few agencies that are willing to assist her. General Hospital spoilers state that it surprises him as Franco thought she was merely considering adoption–not that she was looking to become a mother right away. For Nina, if he isn’t willing to parent her adopted child with her, it will be a deal breaker and could end their relationship.

ABC Soaps in Depth noted that Franco and Nina could have their relationship tested by a new man showing an interest in Nina. Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Palmer Watkins) begins working with Crimson Magazine and shows a personal interest in Nina. The two hit it off, and Dillon finds her intriguing. The General Hospital spoilers state that sparks fly and it could spell trouble for Nina and Franco’s two-year relationship. Is it possible that Dillon could come between Nina and Franco, especially considering there is trouble with them being at odds with each other over the upcoming adoption?

General Hospital spoilers have teased for quite some time that Nina’s child didn’t die 20 years ago; her baby is alive and well in Port Charles. In fact, many fans have speculated that her child is none other than Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). According to the popular soap opera rumor, when Nina fell into a coma years ago, she delivered a child. Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) didn’t want to raise Dr. Silas Clay’s (Michael Easton) child, so the speculation is Madeline gave the child to Ava Jerome (Maura West) to raise. The claim was supported because Ava was so secretive about Kiki’s father’s identity, which made many General Hospital fans question whether Ava was her biological mother.

General Hospital writers Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman do not have any (current) plans to rewrite Kiki’s biological mother. It pretty safe to say that Ava Jerome will stay her mom, and the writers will give Nina Clay a baby through adoption. The real question is, can Franco and Nina survive a child or will the writers break up the happy couple?
