Dallas car chase ends with a bang (video)

A car chase in Dallas today (June 29) ended abruptly when the pursued vehicle took a direct hit from an SUV.

The chase lasted 90 minutes with the driver managing to to avoid spike strips, taking out a number of traffic signs along the way. The vehicle was suspected of carrying drugs, although given police couldn’t pull it over it’s not clear how they came to that conclusion.

With multiple news helicopters in hot pursuit, the car slowed at a red light, then attempted to cross an intersection before it was collected on the drivers side. The driver Shane Michel was rushed to Baylor University Medical Center in a critical condition.
