The ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Are Back To Work, New Behind-The-Scenes Photos From Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, And Dave Bautista

Following Guardians of the Galaxy’s hugely successful box-office run, director James Gunn and company are already hard at work on the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Few details have been released about the new movie. However, Gunn’s recent activity on social media offered fans a first look at some of the cast members in action.

In a recent post to Facebook, Gunn shared an image of Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Christ Pratt, and his brother, Sean Gunn, during a rehearsal. The photo is the first glimpse of the actors hard at work on the sequel and the first opportunity for Gunn to take a few playful shots at the cast.

“When someone’s screwing up a scene during rehearsals I show them Dave Bautista (Batista) as an example of good acting. With Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, and Sean Gunn. #GotGVol2,” Gunn captioned the image.

At the same time, Gunn released another behind-the-scenes photo on Facebook that featured the likes of Michael Rooker. However, unlike the other photograph, Rooker did not seem very happy about Gunn snapping the pic. In fact, the Walking Dead star did not look high in spirits in the image, which is something that Gunn was quick to point out.

“Michael Rooker doesn’t like being shot during rehearsals (with Sean Gunn). #GotGVol2,” Gunn wrote.

In addition to the cast photos, Gunn also posted a picture of Pratt’s nameplate during one of the script readings. In the photo, Gunn had a little fun with the actor’s name by crossing out a few letters and offering his own spelling.

“It was the most fun I’ve ever had watching a table read, and just as much fun seeing everyone together again,” Gunn wrote. “However someone spelled out star’s name wrong so I had to correct it for him.”

According to Aces Showbiz, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is not set to premiere until 2017. Even still, the recent social media posts are a welcome break for fans who can’t get enough of the hit franchise.

Meanwhile, Hypable is reporting that the cast and crew are set to begin production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on February 11. Although the details concerning the main storyline are still vague, fans can expect the movie to explore Star Lord’s origins, which includes the death of his mother and the identity of his long-lost father.

In the first film, fans were introduced to a small element of Star Lord’s family origins, which included a hospital scene with his mother. Although his father was mentioned throughout the first film, his identity was not revealed, leaving many fans wondering about the origins of the character. However, fans can expect that to change in the sequel, which is expected to focus on Star-Lord’s father.

Speaking of his father, Kurt Russell is reportedly up for the role to play Star-Lord’s dad. Although this has yet to be confirmed, Russell has been taking on a number of new projects lately. These projects include Russell’s appearance in Furious 7 and his role in The Hateful Eight. Considering the success of these films, Russell should be in a good position to be cast for the part in Guardians.

The film will see the return of most of the original cast, including Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Vin Diesel. As far as the other roles are concerned, fans can expect more casting news to surface in the coming months.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to open in theaters everywhere on May 5, 2017.
