Nicki Minaj’s Rant In ‘Down In The DM’ May Reignite Feud With Miley Cyrus

Nicki Minaj is not holding herself back in the preview of Yo Gotti’s “Down In The DM.” She takes a dig at Miley Cyrus again. Nicki goes, “I said Miley, wus good / I said could you pay my bills like O’Reilly, wuss good?,” she raps. “I just sit back and observe/ All these ni**as that I done curved / If it goes down in your DM then baby boy you lucky/ Cause 99.9 percent of these f**k boys can’t f**k me,” reports HotNewHipHop. Could the biggest feud of 2015 be back in 2016?

Yo Gotti had released the track as part of The Return mixtape, which came out in September, 2015. It was later released as a single. Gotti will release his new album, The Art of Hustle, on February 19. The album is reported to feature 2 Chainz, Future, Pusha T, Lil Wayne, Timbaland, and others.

Minaj’s rant in the new song refers to the MTV VMA feud that happened in 2015 between her and Miley Cyrus. This was when Nicki was collecting her Best Hip-Hop Video award and took a dig at Miley — who was the host for the evening — about the comments Cyrus had made a week earlier in the media, reported Huffington Post.

Nicki had said in her acceptance speech: “And now… back to this b***h that had a lot to say about me in the press. Yo, Miley, what’s good?”

The comments that had annoyed Nicki so much in the first place were when Miley accused Minaj of being “selfish” for accusing VMAs of racism by not acknowledging that “Anaconda” had been nominated in the Video Of The Year category.

Nicki Minaj had posted a series of tweets alleging that if she was a “different kind of artist,” she would be nominated for other awards, as well.

Miley said: “What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite.”

“You know what I always say? Not that this is jealousy, but jealousy does the opposite of what you want it to — that’s a yoga mantra.

“People forget that the choices that they make and how they treat people in life affect you in a really big way. If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it.”

Nicki went on to make several comments without naming anyone. She pointed out how when “other” artists make music, it goes on to have a huge impact.

Minaj seemed to take a dig at artists like Miley and Taylor Swift.

She raised the issues of race in pop culture and pointed out to the fact that black women are rarely “rewarded” for their influence on culture.

However, the Minaj-Cyrus feud took another turn when Taylor Swift came to Miley Cyrus’ rescue and posted the following post.

However, it did not go down too well with Nicki. But if there is something Minaj knows, it’s how to make a comeback.

To which Nicki replied as follows.

Cyrus had said that it was “not very polite” of Minaj to involve Taylor Swift in the spat between the two, NME had reported. Everybody had thought that it was going to be the end of the squabble between Minaj and Cyrus, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Fast forward to today, and it seems like Nicki Minaj is still not done with that little fight with Miley Cyrus. It’s not really clear how far this feud will go, but there is nothing stopping Nicki Minaj at the moment.
