Miley Cyrus? Joins ?NBC?’s ?’The Voice’?? Season 10 As Key Advisor

Miley Cyrus revealed that she will have a key role to serve in season 10 of NBC’s The Voice, reports USA Today, as the key advisor. In a very Miley-like fashion, the young singer tweeted an odd picture to her fans. Sticking her tongue out — her trademark move, it seems — licking the red blind-audition button.

Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment president, alternative and late night programming had a very solid reason for bringing the incredibly popular young starlet on the show. Telegdy revealed in a statement that “when Miley speaks everyone pays attention. Our artists are very lucky to have the benefit of her instincts and wisdom. Our viewers will be treated to an inside look at one of the brightest minds in music and the entertainment industry who is at the forefront of pop culture.”

Miley Cyrus being a key advisor for The Voice sounds exciting, but what exactly does the key advisor do? Well, for the uninitiated, the key advisor works with Voice contestants who are moving forward in the singing competition, being somewhat of a mentor. Other artists and singers, such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Rihanna, have served as key advisors on The Voice.

Along with this TV gig, Cyrus will also be working with legendary filmmaker Woody Allen on his new series for Amazon, along with Elaine May. The series has yet to be given a title, but Allen will be writing and directing each half-hour episode himself, six episodes in total, as well as have an onscreen role. To no one’s surprise, the filmmaker was able to bypass the pilot-order stage of the series and immediately get picked up for a first season.

Amazon Studios chief Roy Price revealed, during the Television Critics Association’s press tour last summer, that he approached Allen to discuss the possibility of a collaboration.

“Woody Allen is one of the greatest filmmakers America has ever produced,” Price said. “And when we talk about what would be a great inspiration for a show, a lot of Woody Allen films kept coming up… so then we just thought, what if we asked Woody Allen himself to do a show?”

Miley Cyrus has been enjoying a pretty eventful and exciting 2016 so far, considering this news, and the fact that she has just gotten re-engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth. They were originally engaged back in 2012, but they broke up the following year. Miley set the internet ablaze when a photo of her wearing a Neil Lane engagement ring surfaced. According to a source close to the singer, the two have not set an official date for the wedding.

“They are moving surprisingly slowly,” the source told People. “Miley seems to have matured a lot. In the past, she tended to rush things. She acts much more calm and happy now.” Liam is staying with Cyrus in her house in Hidden Hills, according to the source, while he has been filming the sequel to Independence Day, Independence Day: Resurgence. The two have been spending time together when Liam isn’t working, and between this and being on The Voice, Miley Cyrus has a lot to look forward to in her career as well as her personal life.

The source goes on to say that “Miley has been surprisingly low key,” adding that it “seems like she is trying to make sure Liam is happy.”

Miley Cyrus will join The Voice panelist Christina Aguilera, along with judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams, who will return as coaches for season 10, which premieres on February 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
