Is The Feud Between Kanye West And Wiz Khalifa Finally Over?
In what some star watchers might regard as a sign of the impending apocalypse, Kanye West appears to have patched things up with longtime rival Wiz Khalifa. During a Wednesday morning appearance on New York City’s Power 105, Wiz told radio personality Angie Martinez that he recently spoke with Yeezy. He added that Kanye apologized for a blustery and incendiary rant on Twitter that involved a swipe at Khalifa’s child and ultimately brought their mutual ex Amber Rose into the fray.
“We spoke. It’s all good,” Wiz Khalifa told Martinez. “He apologized. And I accept his apology.”
In a video clip posted to TMZ, Angie Martinez appeared surprised at Khalifa’s revelation, clearly impressed that two men with such formidable egos could work out their epic beef.
“Wow! That’s good of you,” said Angie Martinez.
Khalifa did not get into specifics as to whether it was his camp or Kanye West’s crew who made the initial overtures to patch things up, but he did note that there were a lot of people cheering them on to reconciliation.
“It was just meant to be,” Wiz Khalifa said of his convo with Kanye. “There are so many people in between who are so awesome for that to… be real. So the social media was one thing but the reality of the situation was that we spoke and it’s all good.”
For his part, Kanye West broke the news of a confab with Wiz Khalifa on Tuesday by tweeting that they had a “great convo” that was “all positive.”

As previously covered in-depth by Us Magazine, the most recent phase of the animus between the two rappers flew into high gear last week when Wiz Khalifa made a reference to “kk” via Twitter. Although the reference was ostensibly a vernacular term for marijuana, Kanye West interpreted the initials as a diss to his wife Kim Kardashian. Yeezy subsequently launched a Twitter tirade that arguably made Donald Trump’s social media targeting of Megyn Kelly seem almost congenial by comparison.
Kanye West’s profanity-laced multi-point haranguing of Wiz Khalifa included shots at his fellow rapper’s musical chops as well as cracks at Amber Rose. Kanye dated Amber in the past, and Wiz Khalifa has a son with the model.
“You let a stripper trap you,” Kanye said to Wiz via Twitter. “I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years.”
West also took the opportunity to tweet out a promotional message for his forthcoming album, Waves, while he was in the thick of his rant against Khalifa.
Amber Rose took the whole exchange to another level, jumping in with a lewd tweet regarding one of Kanye’s alleged sexual preferences. West later denied Rose’s claims. Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa are no longer an item, but they remain on friendly terms as they raise their child.
Early signs of détente between the houses of West and Khalifa manifested shortly after the initial flap when Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself with Amber Rose via Instagram. Celebrity news and gossip receptacle Hollywood Life said it was Kim who initially offered to make peace and that their talk quickly became an emotional, tear-filled make-up session that was capped with a hug.
Hollywood Life reports that the above-noted meeting between Kim Kardashian and Amber Rose signals that their “war” is now officially over. It looks like things are definitely winding down between the men in their lives, as well. But as Yeezy himself says, “people in life are seasons,” and judging from his history of on again/off again rivalries with other prominent celebrities, it’s entirely possible that we haven’t seen the last of the spirited rivalry between Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West.
