‘RHOBH’ Star Kathryn Edwards Shares Devastating News

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kathryn Edwards has only filmed a few episodes, but she’s already making headlines for her beef with Faye Resnick. Apparently, Kathryn has an interesting past — so interesting that Faye felt it was alright to include her in a book she was writing about the OJ Simpson case years ago. And while she never asked permission to write about Edwards, she’s now facing a very angry woman. But Kathryn reveals that she’s dealing with something much more personal these days.

According to a new Bravo report, Kathryn Edwards is now revealing that she’s gone through a tough time over the past couple of days because she’s lost a family member. And her loss is just devastating, as her family had no idea that her nephew was struggling with something much deeper than an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“I am very sad to start my blog off with having to say that I lost my nephew a week ago today. His name was Cooper, he had just turned 21 years old. I won’t get into all of the details, but suffice to say that my family is beyond devastated. What I will share with you is this: Cooper was experimenting with drugs… he died of a drug overdose. No one knew that he was in that dark of a place. We knew that he had been screwing up… not going to school, missing work and not acting responsibly,” Kathryn Edwards reveals in her blog, sharing that she may have been a bit absent.

And it sounds like this issue is very important to her. Kathryn Edwards had no idea that her nephew was struggling with something. As she goes on to explain, she knew that her nephew was experimenting with drugs and that some of her family members may have told him to get his life straight. But it sounds like he managed to keep the drug use secret, even from his girlfriend of two years, who is now left alone to put the pieces back together.

“His girlfriend of two years had no idea it was this bad, his father (my brother) had no idea. My purpose in sharing this news with you is this: I want everyone who reads my blog to be aware of what’s going on around their loved ones, their friends and their social circles. It’s not enough to tell someone ‘to get their act together’ or ‘to figure it out.’ People who are lost aren’t able to see their way out or have the tools to navigate,” Kathryn points out, hinting that she would have done just about anything to help her nephew deal with his issues.

And Edwards believes that this issue isn’t just something a few families experience. This is a huge problem that has to be taken seriously, and many families are losing children to drugs. And she explains in her blog, this is something people need to take seriously, writing, “We have an epidemic in this country. Too many kids are dying from drug overdoses, not enough is being done. You will learn about my younger years this season… I wish I could say that this is the first time that my family has been touched by addiction and tragedy, but it isn’t.”

Despite going through such an emotional time, Edwards still took the time to address some of the issues on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, even though they seem to minor compared to her loss. According to Radar Online, the feud between Kathryn and Faye is far from over. While they could sit down and talk during a dinner at Kyle Richards’ house, it is clear that Edwards is still very upset with her name being present in a book about her former life.

As fans learned, Kathryn Edwards had once been married to Marcus Allen, who was OJ’s best friend at the time of Nicole Brown Simpson’s death. And Faye, who claimed to be Nicole’s best friend, decided to mention Kathryn in the book. She was under the impression that Nicole was sleeping with Kathryn’s ex-husband. Edwards never read the book.
