Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez Discuss Possible Song Collaboration

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have both collaborated on music with other artists in the past, producing several chart-topping hits from these duets.

So when will Taylor and Selena finally join together to produce what’s sure to be another chart-topping song? In a recent interview with E! Online, Gomez finally revealed some details about the likelihood she and Swift would record a song together.

Speaking outside the Sundance Film Festival, Selena gave life to rumors that the two artist would finally be in the same recording studio together. What Gomez couldn’t give, however, was a time frame for when the possible collaboration with Taylor Swift could happen.

“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, eventually right? She’s my best friend. We’ll see.”

Part of the reason Selena may not be able to commit to a time frame for a future collaboration with Taylor is the busy filming schedule Gomez is currently enjoying. Selena was at the Sundance Film Festival where her latest film – The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving – made its debut.

But Gomez has more films in production. Selena and her star-studded cast recently wrapped up production on the movie In Dubious Battle, a 1930’s tale about the labor movement. Joining Gomez on the film were stars Josh Hutchinson (The Hunger Games), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), and James Franco (This Is The End).

Her next scheduled movie — Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising — is slated for release May 20, 2016. Joining Selena Gomez in this comedy include the stars of the original Neighbors movie — Seth Rogen and Zac Efron — as well as rising star Chloe Grace Moretz.

While Selena Gomez is filling her time away from music with movie roles, Taylor is on hiatus after her record-smashing 1989 album. Swift also recently completed a tour by the same name with stops across America and internationally, too. Selena Gomez also released an album in 2015 called Revival. The album quickly gained notoriety as Gomez decided to pose nude for the cover, combating fat-shaming.

It was during an international pit stop that Taylor Swift recorded the video for her sixth single off the album called “Out Of The Woods.” Swift stopped in New Zealand away from the public’s view to film the video. Recently, Selena Gomez joined her best friend in recreating an image from the song’s title for Instagram.

Taylor is taking a well-deserved break after her big year. The highlight of the year was the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards as Swift won four VMA Moonman trophies on the night, including the top award for Best Musical Video.

The video was for “Bad Blood” and starred several members of the Taylor Swift squad, including Selena Gomez. For their efforts in making the iconic music video, Taylor gave each of the actresses in the production a replica VMA Moonman trophy. The music video spawned several spoofs, including a hilarious SNL skit featuring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Swift ended her year with a vacation to Colorado for the holidays. Taylor took several pictures of herself and boyfriend Calvin Harris, photographs that made her Instagram account explode. Rumors had recently sprung up that Taylor and Calvin were having relationship trouble, but those proved false. Swift does often seek relationship advice, but only as a means to make her first mature relationship last, The Inquisitr reported.

While it may not be a new collaboration with Selena Gomez, Taylor recently sang with Gigi Hadid on a popular song. Hadid posted a Snapchat video of her and Swift singing along with Grease: Live performer Julianna Hough while watching the musical Sunday. Although Taylor Swift is usually in the spotlight, former Disney star Vanessa Hudgens stole the show with her heart-felt performance after the passing of her father Saturday night.
