Cliven Bundy: Oregon Militia Won’t End Standoff Despite Ammon’s Wishes, Lavoy Finicum ‘Assassinated’ [Video]

Oregon militia leader Cliven Bundy is taking control now that Ammon Bundy is behind bars. Cliven’s son was arrested during the events that led to Lavoy Finicum’s death, and now Ammon has been calling for the Oregon standoff to end. His father is not willing to give up and is now demanding that all federal and state policing agents should be completely removed from Harney County. In addition, he wrote in an official letter that the Oregon militia will retain control of the Harney County resource center at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

At this point in time, most of the Oregon militia have either been arrested or they are not currently occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Shortly after being arrested, Ammon told the remaining militiamen to “go home and hug your families.”

“To those remaining at the refuge, I love you,” Bundy’s statement said. “Let us take this fight from here. Please stand down.”

Among those remaining is Sean Anderson, who announced they were willing to surrender as long as the FBI did not arrest them on their way home.

“We are willing to leave peacefully,” Anderson said. “If the FBI will let us leave without arrest or forcing us through the checkpoint, we will all go home. No one here wants anyone to be hurt or die, but I am not afraid to die.”

On February 1, 2016, Cliven Bundy sent out a letter to President Obama, Oregon Governor Kate Brown, and Harney County Sheriff David Ward stating that the Bundy Ranch is not willing to stand down and will retain possession of the disputed land.

“This notice that We the People of Harney County, and also We the People of the citizens of the United States, do give notice that we will retain possession of the Harney County resource centers. (Malheur National Wildlife Refuge) Remove all federal and state policing agents out of Harney County. Place a Harney County sheriff guard post at the entrance road of the Harney County Resource Center stopping all from entering or exiting, for a time.”

In a new release from this past Friday, Cliven also claimed Robert “Lavoy” Finicum was murdered.

“LaVoy Finicum was assassinated by wicked and evil men representing our US government. These men in local, state, and US government feared the truths that LaVoy Finicum was standing for and teaching to his fellowmen. The truth about the supreme law of this land was more than these leaching bureaucrats could allow!” the statement said.

In the statement, Cliven explains the reason that Finicum was killed because he objected to the federal bureaucrats who have taken “constitutional jurisdiction and authority away” and given these powers to the “BLM, Forest Service, US Fish & Wildlife, Park Service, EPA and etc.” In making this argument, Cliven referred to Article 4, Section of the U.S. Constitution.

“The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.”

Cliven argues that this clause was properly enacted when states were admitted to the union in the past but claims that the federal government is otherwise limited to overseeing Washington D.C. and “property purchased with the consent of state legislature for military purposes and other needful buildings.” The Bundy Ranch leader believes the actual situation in the United States goes way beyond the powers authorized by the Constitution.

“When we look at the large map of the United States we see that in the west the federal government claims over 50% ownership of the land. In a state, like Nevada, they claim over 90% ownership of the land. How can that be?” he asks. “Show me. Show me where it says in the constitution that the federal government can own mass areas of land?”

From there, Cliven parodied the position of the U.S. federal government by referring to powers the Bundy’s believe the “U.S. constitution does not give to the US government. In the 10th Amendment, only a very few enumerated powers are given by the people to the federal government.”

“All is well in your government. There cannot be a cry go out for freedom, or for property rights, state sovereignty, local government closet to the people – government by the people – for the people. No, we cannot allow policing power be in the hands of We the People’s elected county Sheriff. We the great bureaucracies rule and have unlimited power over these lands…. We can buy up everything and every man’s soul with their own money and with their 18 trillion dollar debt. We are prospering. We own the state government and their land. We buy and control their schools and their sheriff. We control the water in the river and under the earth. We control the airways, even the signals that pass around the world. We, the bureaucrat, are the supreme.”
