Selena Gomez Hints At Taylor Swift Duet

Fans of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been waiting what feels like forever for the besties to team up for a duet, and now it sounds like the two are finally getting serious about hitting the studio together.

Gomez opened up about a potential duet with the pop superstar in a new interview with E! News, where she confessed that the two will be recording a duet “eventually.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, eventually, right?” Selena coyly told the site of any impending Gomez/Swift music last week. “She’s my best friend. We’ll see.”

Gomez’s big duet confession comes less than two weeks after Selena took to social media to post a shot of herself spending some quality time with the “We Are Never Getting Back Together” singer, which could suggest that a Taylor/Selena duet may actually be coming sooner rather than later.

Selena captioned the sweet photo of the friends on Instagram, where the two were joking around and hiding in a bush, “Are we in the clear yet?” which is actually a line from Taylor’s most recent single, “Out of the Woods.”

But while Selena and Taylor are yet to spend any quality time together in the studio, they have actually teamed up for a pretty epic musical collaboration in the past.

Back in November 2011, Gomez and Swift hit the stage together for the very first time to perform Gomez’s empowering hit “Who Says.” The live duet went down during Taylor’s “Speak Now” world tour stop at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where Swift even introduced Gomez to the crowd as her “best friend.”

“We, after four years of being best friends, have never actually sung on stage together and I think that’s just such a shame,” Taylor said at the time. “So it just so happens…”

Swift then went on to tell the very excited audience at the show, before announcing, “Selena’s here tonight!”

Gomez and Swift then hit the stage again together just last year, where they performed Selena’s sexy hit “Good For You” together at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles during Swift’s “1989” tour.

But until Gomez and Swift do eventually get down to business and lay down some vocals for a duet, fans of the star will have to make do with Selena’s latest collaboration with “Marvin Gaye” singer Charlie Puth.

Puth recently spoke about his new duet with Selena in an interview with Metro, where he confessed that he felt Gomez was a good fit for the break-up song following her pretty tumultuous past relationship with Justin Bieber.

“I think it fits so well for her to be on [the song] because everyone knows what she went through,” Puth recently told Metro of his new duet with Gomez, which is titled “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

“I think everyone has had those relationships where you’re obsessed with that one person, but then you break it off peacefully, but it’s changed,” Puth continued, hinting at Selena’s dramatic on/off four-year relationship with Bieber. “You can’t talk to them like friends anymore. You can say you want to remain friends, but it’s easier said than done.”

Selena Gomez is also credited as a writer on the song, which is featured on Puth’s debut album, Nine Track Mind, and their recent closeness even sparked relationship rumors after Selena and Charlie shared some pretty cozy snaps of each other on social media.

Gomez shared a photo of the two hanging out on Twitter on September 21, which she was quick to caption, “Before it begins, he is a good one. He is MY FRIEND only lol [sic].”
