India cricket fans will want to watch their team’s third T20 match against Australia, streaming live online Sunday, as the Men in Blue look to put an exclamation point on their limited-overs tour by completing a whitewash of their hosts less than two months ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in March, a tournament that will be played in India this year.
On the other hand Australia — winners of the 2015 Cricket World Cup, a tournament played in a 50-overs format — appear to have a bleak outlook for the World T20, as they battle to end the series against India on a high note. Not only would a loss be their fourth T20 defeat in row — all four of the only T20 matches they have played since beating South Africa on November 9, 2014 — their T20 side seems to become more depleted with every outing.
Not only did Australia rest their two top batsmen, Steve Smith and David Warner, for the second and third T20 matches against India, the second match saw Captain Aaron Finch injure a hamstring during his 74-run innings on Friday, as Australia came 27 runs short of chasing down the visitor’s total of 184.
Australia have named Shane Watson, an experienced T20 international player wth 51 caps, captain for the final T20 match, while Usman Khawaja replaces Finch for Sunday’s tour finale. Khawaja will be making his international T20 debut after racking up 345 runs for the Big Bash League Sydney Thunder, though he played just four matches for the Thunder as they stormed to their first BBL title.

The action is scheduled to get underway at 7:35 Australian Eastern Daylight Time at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on Sunday, January 31.
For cricket fans in the United States, that start time will be 3:35 a.m. Eastern Time, 12:35 a.m.Pacific.
In the second T20, spinner Ravi Jadeja led the way, taking two wickets in four overs with an economy of 8.0, as well as turning in a sparkling play in the field, engineering a run-out of Finch.
Capping off the Australia tour with a sweep would be a heartening turnaround for India, after the visitors played poorly in dropping the first three matches of their One Day International series to open the tour. But India salvaged the series with a win in the final ODI, then appeared to click into form once the T20 series got started.
India face Bangladesh next, in the opening match of the five-team Asia Cup T20 tournament on February 24 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. That tournament wraps up on March 6. India then opens its run at the T20 World Cup title on March 15, taking on New Zealand in Nagpur.
