Meek Mill Hints At A New Music Release On Instagram While Drake Fuels ‘Views From The 6’ Rumors

Meek Mill may have given fans a glimpse of his upcoming Dreamchasers 4 mixtape with the release of his surprise 4/4 EP, but it appears that Meek Mill may have even more new music in store for fans ahead of the mixtape’s impending release.

On Thursday, Meek Mill took to Instagram to seemingly hint that new music is on the horizon, telling fans that he “can not wait to slide back by and set y’all straight 4 more b4 the 4” alongside a candid snapshot of himself from a previous live performance.

The news comes nearly two weeks after Meek Mill surprised fans with the release of his 4/4 EP, which contained four new tracks, including, “Pray For Em,” “Gave Em Hope,” “FBH,” and his Drake diss track, “I’m Da Plug Freestyle.”

According to HipHopDX, reps for the Philly rapper allege that the title of Meek Mill’s EP also doubles as the release date for Meek’s impending Dreamchasers 4 mixtape, which has been set for April 4, 2016.

With the continued delay in the release of DC4, it appears that Meek Mill is planning to drop some new music for patient fans ahead of the mixtape’s April release.

While Meek Mill hasn’t confirmed rumors of another EP release in the near future, some fans speculate that Meek Mill may be planning to drop some new music amid rumors that Drake’s highly anticipated Views From the 6 album is due in the coming weeks.

Last week, Complex alleged that Drake may be holding off on releasing his fourth studio album until February given the number of events taking place next month.

The site explains that with the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, All-Star weekend, New York Fashion Week, and the one-year anniversary of Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape coming up, it’s possible that the Toronto rapper is planning on dropping VFT6 around the second week in February.

It’s also been rumored that with Kanye West’s upcoming album, WAVES, due out on February 11, Drake may be planning to compete with West on the Billboard charts given the duo’s history of a friendly rivalry regarding their new music releases.

In addition, Drake recently confirmed that he will be hosting a new episode of OVOSound Radio on Saturday via Apple Music, sparking rumors that the rapper may be planning to either release a new track via the live broadcast or make an announcement regarding Views’ impending release.

Drake has been known to drop exclusive new music via the radio program, having released his joint mixtape with Future, What a Time to Be Alive, during one of the show’s live broadcasts in September 2015.

With Meek Mill’s 4/4 EP having dropped the same day as OVOSound Radio’s first 2016 broadcast two weeks ago, fans are curious to see if Meek has another song set for release given the rumors surrounding Drake’s upcoming appearance on the radio show.

While it’s unclear whether or not Drake has another diss track planned for Meek Mill on Views From the 6, rumors are circulating that Drake is prepared to respond to the rapper’s “I’m Da Plug Freestyle” with the release of his speculated “3 Peat” diss track.
