Want to cook bacon on your iPhone? there’s an app for that

ibacon

Have you ever wanted to virtually cook bacon on your iPhone? well as much as the answer is probably no, you now can with iBacon.

According to the official spiel, iBacon allows you to “Impress your friends as you cook bacon right on your iPhone or iPod touch!” The application takes advantage of multi-touch, vibrate and the accelerometer, allowing you to “pinch” the tongs to flip your bacon and “tilt” your device to drain off excess grease.

If you’re a bacon fan (and who isn’t) you might get some enjoyment out of iBacon, although I get the feeling the novelty would wear off pretty quickly, particularly when you could be cooking actual bacon instead.

$1.19 in the iTunes app store here. Demo video as follows:

  1. The funny part is that because Apple must approve these apps, people in some office in Cupertino or wherever were having serious discussions about the value of this app, probably including references to various religious prohibitions as well as “the key impact of pork products in the American economy.”

  2. Yummy.. gotta go and get one now.

  3. This is totally pointless an thanks to the demo, my urge to buy this product is now at 0.

And the “fire alarm” freaked out my cat. He's now hiding under the couch since he's terrified of fire alarms. Thanks, iBacon!
