Amber Rose Doesn’t Care What Anyone Thinks Amid Kanye West Feud
Amber Rose no longer cares what anybody else thinks. In a new op-ed for Time, the model revealed that she has been slut-shamed for most of her life.
In her powerful and inspiring piece, Amber Rose asked women to stop slut-shaming each other, and for the men to do the same as well.
“Ever since high school, I’ve been called a slut. All the boys were attracted to me – that wasn’t my fault! Then, when I started getting famous, the shaming got even worse. All these messed up stories came out about me, and I was like, ‘That’s not true! I’m not that kind of girl!’ But even things I had done – things a man would never be judged for me – got me lots of hate.”
Amber Rose revealed that the hurtful and vile words did get her down. But nowadays, she stopped caring about what other people think of her.
“But in the past year, I’ve just started not caring. People would actually say things like, ‘Who would ever love you? You were a stripper. Why are you in relationships?’ And I used to feel like I had to explain that maybe it was because I’m a good person.”
Sounds familiar? Kanye West went after both Amber and her son, Sebastian, 2, during his long Twitter rant on Wednesday, Jan. 27. He even tweeted some offensive things about her, and slammed her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa for having a child with her.
Kanye tweeted, “You let a stripper trap you,” and “I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years.”
But he didn’t stop there. The Waves rapper also tweeted, “You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me,” and “You own waves???? I own your child!!!!”
Rose, 32, opened up about West’s bizarre Twitter rant on the “Allegedly” podcast that was published by TMZ on Thursday, Jan. 28.
“I would never talk about kids in an argument. It just shows the type of person he is. Even him saying stuff about my son, I still didn’t say anything about his kids. I’m not going to. This is ridiculous. They’re innocent babies. You don’t ever, ever talk about a baby, ever. That just shows how f**king ridiculous he is.”
The podcast’s hosts Theo Von and Matt Cole Weiss proceeded to ask Amber if she was surprised by Kanye’s Twitter rant. She said that she wasn’t surprised because he acts like a “f**king clown.”
Amber Rose also hit back at the rapper on Twitter when she exposed a secret about his bedroom preferences.
What confuses the beauty is why the rapper keeps bringing her up. She even wondered why West keeps bringing her up in music, interviews, and on the internet. Last week, West teased a new song that dissed Rose and claimed that she used him as her ticket to fame.
And last February, Kanye West slammed Amber Rose during his interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. On the radio show, he revealed that his wife Kim Kardashian would make him take “30 showers” before he dated her.
Kanye West and Amber Rose dated for two years from 2008 to 2010 before he became a part of the Kardashian clan. In her op-ed for Time, Rose has asked her female fans to have more empathy for one another, and to stop the judging and slut-shaming.
“There may have been a time where you looked back and said, ‘I probably shouldn’t have done that.’ Does that make you a ho? No, it makes you a human.”
