‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 To Focus On Slenderman?

American Horror Story has centered on different topics since the show started in 2011. They’ve had seasons centering on ghosts, serial killers, aliens, witches, a Nazi doctor, and a vampire, so fans are waiting for what Season 6 has in store. As The Inquisitr previously reported, the CEO of FX, John Landgraf, has already confirmed that the next season of American Horror Story will be “set in the present with echoes of the past.” Now, rumor has it that there’s already a storyline for Season 6.

According to Us Weely, Season 6 of American Horror Story will be about Slender Man, an internet meme that came about in 2009. An insider spilled a few details regarding AHS.

“Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show. They have to buy the rights. The they’re going to figure out the cast from there.”

As of writing, there is no confirmation from creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk on the Slender Man storyline, but if rumors are to be believed, then Season 6 of American Horror Story should really be interesting.

Slender Man, also written as Slenderman, according to Know Your Meme, is a tall and thin creature with no face wearing a black suit. According to internet myth, Slender Man stalks and abducts people, particularly children, and can stretch his arms. The fictional creature is said to cause paranoia, insomnia, and memory loss.

The creator of Slender Man, Victor Surge, had the shadow people legend in mind when he created Slender Man. He also was inspired by the writings of Stephen King, Zack Parsons, and H.P. Lovecraft. He shared his thoughts on Slender Man in an interview.

“[His intention] is to formulate something whose motivations can barely be comprehended, and [which caused] unease and terror in a general population.”

Soon after creation, Slender Man went viral and was the subject of many internet memes, drawings, and online fiction stories called Creepy Pasta.

The myth of Slender Man was also associated with a crime that took place in Wisconsin, as Gawker reported in 2014, wherein two girls, ages 12 and 13, stabbed their friend 19 times and left her for dead in a forest. When interrogated by the authorities, the two girls claimed that they had committed the crime to make a sacrifice for Slender Man so they could become his proxies. Fortunately, the girl they attacked survived the stab wounds and was able to crawl her way out of the forest. During the investigation, authorities were able to find more than 50 drawings of Slender Man in one of the girls’ bedroom.

One of two 12-year-old girls accused of stabbing a classmate to please the fictional character Slender Man is led into a courtroom at the Waukesha County Courthouse in Waukesha, Wis. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014. Her attorney challenged a doctor's report that said she was competent to stand trial. A competency hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18, the same day as a competency hearing for the other girl accused in the case. (AP Photo/Waukesha Freeman, Charles Auer, Pool)

Since there are a lot of fictional stories on the internet about Slender Man, there is no way of knowing how the treatment for American Horror Story Season 6 will go, if the rumors about the Slender Man storyline are true.

Meanwhile, there is no news about who is returning for AHS Season 6. However, creator Ryan Murphy already revealed his intentions of getting Lady Gaga back for the next season. Another actress who is rumored to be returning to the series is Jessica Lange, who has been present in all the seasons of American Horror Story, except the last one.
