Mylo Xyloto: Coldplay Comic Book To Debut At Comic-Con

Coldplay is getting into the Comic Book business. The band announced that it will be releasing Mylo Xyloto, a six-part comic book series, this week at Comic-Con.

The Comic Book will tell the story of Mylo Xyloto (which was the title of the band’s last album).

Coldplay writes:

“3 years ago we had an idea with our friend mark osborne about a character called mylo xyloto (“xylo” as in xylophone, “to” as in toe). Gradually mylo’s story and universe came together and this ended up providing the backdrop for the album and tour. Now we’re proud to announce that early next year the story’s going to come out as a 6-part comic. And to kick things off Mark’s going to be holding a panel at comic con in San Diego this week. So if you’re there you can ask him ‘who’s major minus?’ and ‘what the hell’s the hypnofeed all about?’ We hope you like it. It was fun making it.”

According to E! Online, the Coldplay Comic Book was created with the help of Kung Fu Panda writer Mark Osborne and will be published by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening’s company Bongo Comics.

Osborne describes the plot of the new comic by saying:

“All I will say is it is the story of Mylo Xyloto, a young Silencer on the front lines of a war against sound and color in the world of Silencia. Mylo discovers that the enemy he’s been trained to hate his whole life might not be the enemy after all.”

Mylo Xyloto will be available at Comic-Con. A limited supply can also be purchased from Coldplay’s website. The comic book will officially be released in February.
