Anderson Cooper To Marry Long-Term Boyfriend As Soon As Labor Day [Rumor]
Now that Anderson Cooper is out-and-proud as a gay man, confirming the suspicions of some and breaking the hearts of women warm for the Silver Fox, rumor has it the CNN anchor is already planning to marry his long-term boyfriend, maybe as soon as Labor Day.
Cooper has long kept the lid tightly sealed regarding speculation as to his sexuality, only to come out several weeks ago as a gay man, marking the first time he has ever addressed the very personal subject publicly. “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be more happy,” he said.The 45-year-old journalist is now planning to marry his boyfriend Ben Maisani, whom he has been in a relationship with since 2009, reports the Daily Mail.
“He’d been considering breaking the news [about being gay] since same-sex marriage became legal in the state of New York last summer,” a source told tabloids. “It’s been about a year now and he wants to get married to Ben. They’re totally committed to one another.”
Other than that, notes Towleroad, “There are few other details about this rumor, other than that most of us probably won’t be invited.”
French-born Maisani currently lives with Cooper in the latter’s apartment in New York City. The two live a fairly low-key lifestyle, and have succesfully avoided the prying eyes of the media throughout the course of their relationship. “They’re a very low-key couple who sticks to their routine,” said one source. Cooper came out several weeks ago, and was reportedly encouraged to marry Maisani last year by his own mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, who also helped the couple through some difficult times. She has also encouraged the two to adopt.
Cooper’s coming-out has resulted in a massive outpouring of support. On finally revealing his sexuality to the world after years of strictly guarded privacy, Cooper said that, “In a perfect world, I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business, but I do think there is value in standing up and being counted,” continuing, “I’m not an activist, but I am a human being and I don’t give that up by being a journalist.”

My son is gay- he and his partner have been together for 23 years. They live a great life- they would help anyone at anytime, they have a beautiful home and 5 dogs. They belong to lots of organizations and are loyal beyond all else. Please understand they are humans. Anderson is a terrific man and we should all aplaud how he chooses to handle his life.
