Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s Slice of Cake Sold

A slice of a 27-year old cake from Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding was sold to an anonymous bidder at an auction for £1,200.

The slice of marzipan and icing with the royal coat of arms was originally given to Moyra Smith, a member of the Queen’s Mother’s household. When she died, her husband decided to put it up for auction. The money will be donated to several charities.

“The slice of cake icing is in remarkably good condition considering the difficulties involved in removing this from the cake,” auctioneer Dominic Winter said.

As for the buyer, there is no word if he or she will keep the cake and eat it, too.
