Fifth Harmony Go Solo As Fans Call For A Reunion

Though they’ve promised a new album for 2016, it appears that Fifth Harmony have been enjoying spending some time apart recently.

Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello took to Instagram on January 25 to post a number of short candid videos of herself performing Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” accompanied by an acoustic guitar, which has fans wondering if the star is looking to go solo.

The videos came amidst rumors that Cabello has been eyeing a solo career of her own after she briefly broke away from Fifth Harmony late last year to release the track “I Know What You Did Last Summer” alongside her rumored boyfriend, Shawn Mendes.

But it’s not just Camila who appears to be looking ahead to releasing solo music, as Cabello’s fellow Fifth Harmony bandmate Lauren Jauregui seemed to hint that she was writing solo music in an elusive tweet on January 21.

“All the stories told, all the truths lost,” Lauren wrote on the social media site, which prompted fans to ask if the quote was actually lyrics was taken from Fifth Harmony’s as yet untitled upcoming album. Lauren then appeared to confirm that the tweet was in fact song lyrics, but tweeted out that the words were “from my future sounds potentially,” which appeared to confirm she too was looking to record solo music.

Both solo career hints came after the girls’ fellow Fifth Harmony band member Ally Brooke was spotted visiting a children’s hospital in San Antonio, where she appeared to deny any rumors that the Fifth Harmony ladies were planning on going their separate ways.

According to a report by Fox 29, Brooke confirmed during her charitable appearance that “Fifth Harmony are working on their second album, they’re picking out songs and they’re planning to tour in the next few months.”

But while the group have continually denied split rumors, the recent lack of sightings of the Fifth Harmony ladies together as a fivesome has some fans taking to social media to make a desperate plea to see the girls reunite.

“Can fifth harmony reunite and do something before I lose all of my feelings for them?” Twitter user @CAMILASJERGI wrote on the social media site this week, while @CabeYofeels wrote, “harmonizers to Fifth Harmony right now #WhereIsFifthHarmony.”

All 5 Fifth Harmony girls were last seen together when the performed at Y100’s Jingle Ball 2015 on December 18, meaning it’s been close to 6 weeks since the band’s fans saw them as a fivesome.

But despite the recent lack of sightings, we know that Fifth Harmony won’t actually be going anywhere soon.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Cabello confirmed backstage at the big show that the girls were just finishing up Fifth Harmony’s second album and hinted that fans would be hearing new music very soon. “We’re working on our second album right now. We are in the last few days recording,” she said back in December, “You’re going to be hearing new music very soon, and that’s that.”

Camila’s bandmate Dinah Jane Hansen also confirmed in a separate interview with Spin last year that the upcoming release is definitely going ahead and will show fans a different side of Fifth Harmony.

Revealing that the new album has a “different kind of sound,” the Fifth Harmony beauty added, “This is definitely another level for us. It’s a side of Fifth Harmony that no one’s really seen. In the beginning, we were super happy. Our first album was very jumpy. This time, we’re showing who Fifth Harmony really is behind closed doors.”

The girls also appear to have been pretty busy behind the scenes, as Maverick Management confirmed this month that the ladies, who first met when they auditioned separately on Fox’s The X Factor, had just joined their roster, putting them on a pretty impressive client list that includes Madonna, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus.
