John Krasinski Says He Was Never In Love With Jenna Fischer On ‘The Office’ Despite The Actresses Comments

Earlier in the week, The Office’s Jenna Fischer spoke out about her chemistry with John Krasinski while making the NBC sitcom. The two played the star crossed lovers Jim and Pam, who became the quintessential couple, stealing hearts across the world.

On Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live!, Fischer, the actress that played Pam on the show, to everyone’s delight, said that the chemistry she had with John Krasinski was real and very reflective of their love for one another off screen. She told Andy Cohen, “John and I have real chemistry.”

She continued, “There’s a real part of me that is Pam and a real part of him that’s Jim, and those parts of us were genuinely in love with one another. In real life, we aren’t totally Pam and totally Jim. So in real life we’re not, like, the perfect match.”

Krasinski who heard about the quote, responded to Jenna’s comments about their “genuine love” for one another. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Krasinski said that his co-star of several years was probably misquoted and taken out of context. To make things more awkward, he said that he felt bad for her.

“I think that was wildly misquoted or taken out of context.”

Krasinski continued: “I’m sure she was trying to say something nice about how genuine the acting relationship was, of bringing a relationship that became that popular onscreen — and I think we both feel it’s such an honor to be a part of that relationship. As far as how she was quoted about saying we were ‘genuinely in love,’ I think that was taken wildly out of context and I feel bad for her.”

Fans wishes were dashed and they reacted on Twitter to John Krasinski’s comments:

Funny enough, Krasinski’s comments come on the heels of the announcement that he and his wife Emily Blunt are expecting their second child.

Blunt’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly that she and John are expecting their second child. Blunt is currently on location shooing The Girl on the Train, while Krasinski is promoting his film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

As for the couple, they said I do in Italy in 2010 and welcomed along their daughter, Hazel, in February 2014. Back in August of 2015, Blunt became a duel citizen for the United States of America.

When speaking about motherhood, Blunt said in 2015 to Radio Times that parenthood as a whole is “overwhelming.”

“It changes you infinitely in a rather overwhelming way. The best way I can describe it is that it’s like this lovely distraction that I always have. It’s always there and I love that feeling.”

As for her life in L.A. she has a love-hate relationship with it, saying that she hates the fact that it’s a “one-industry town.” She continued, “the quest for success emanates from every corner of it. It can be suffocating in some ways.”

As for Krasinski’s take on fatherhood, he admitted to People magazine that he went through a “existential crises” after welcoming daughter Hazel into the world.

“I went through some really serious stuff,. There is a mirror that is held up to me now. You have someone watching you. You have to lead by example.”

The actor said that it also helped him get a different perspective on his own parents and his wife Emily a lot better.
