Prince Harry, Latest Jennifer Aniston Of The Tabloids?

It seems as though Jennifer Aniston has lost her crown as the top celebrity of the tabloids, and it all seems connected to the fact that the single life of Ms. Aniston finally came to a halt once her now-hubby Justin Theroux put a ring on it and said his “I dos” to the Cake actress this past summer.

Until the two wed, Aniston had graced countless tabloid covers as the ever-single star on the verge of another break-up. The solid relationship between Aniston and Theroux has calmed the rumor mil, although pregnancy stories continue to creep in and make the couple deny the claims tirelessly.

In regards to the latest celebrity who has seemed to take over Jen’s unintentional duty as the tabloids’ hot topic in the relationship department, Prince Harry gets the trophy.

Vanity Fair notes the recent explosion of stories circulating Prince Harry’s love life.

“[T]he current media treatment of Prince Harry—portraying him as a lonely spinster-type (a “prince-ter,” if you will—sorry)—something of a reversal. This past weekend, the Daily Mail ran a story with the headline, ‘The last straw for single Prince Harry as wild pal Tom Inskip is set to get married.’ The report began, ‘Poor Prince Harry! The pressure on him to find a girl and settle down has ratcheted up yet another notch after one of his last single party-loving pals got engaged.’ The story detailed the recent engagement of Harry’s 29-year-old pal (whom, in the past, ‘has fallen out of clubs all over the world with Harry,’ in one of the more Daily Mail–esque descriptors there’s ever been).”

The tabloids most definitely endeavor to make the Prince, who seems to be quite content with his single bachelor life, come across as desperate. The publication relays how the tabloids refer to an apparent discussion between Harry and his pal, during which he utters heartfelt words of wanting to find true love. Vanity Fair notes the words and gives a poignant description of the one-liner that appeared in Daily Mail.

“‘I’m not dating and for the first time ever I want to find a wife.’ Now, this dialogue sounds way more like a clunky line from a cable soap opera than an actual sentence a human uttered, but it makes our point about the way Harry has been positioned nevertheless.”

Prince Harry is no stranger to being the subject of relationship woes and rumors and before he took off for his tour of Africa last year, he did, in fact, share that he was interested in settling down. However, since he returned from his duties in Africa, the rusty-haired younger brother to Prince William has not offered up the words that the tabloids would likely love to confirm their rumors about the Prince’s apparent desperation for a wife of his own.

The young royal is certainly pictured quite frequently as the awkward third wheel to his older brother Will and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. This doesn’t seem to phase the young Prince as he’s been steadfast and focused on continuing his military service and his royal duties.

Late last year, as Parade noted, Prince Harry responded honestly to the marriage question when asked if he was ready to get hitched.

“No. You know, at the end of the day, there’s a lot of things to get down before settling down.”

In the same interview, Harry admitted he’s been a bit MIA in the life of his nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, but he said candidly that he’d make it up to them.
