Miley Cyrus ‘Stoked’ To Act in Woody Allen Amazon Series & ‘Beyond Happy’ To Be Engaged Again To Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus, known first as the sweet innocent on Hannah Montana and then for the wild singer of inimitable creations such as “Wrecking Ball,” is coming back to TV in a very unexpected way. The newly engaged fiancee of Liam Hemsworth (yes, that’s the same engagement ring that Miley is flaunting as she and Liam try their luck at love for a second time and recycle the bling) is teaming up with Woody Allen, creator of films such as Annie Hall, for a series for Amazon.

This will be the first such series for Woody, and social media is going wild at the idea that Cyrus and Allen will be working together, reported Newsweek. Elaine May will be joining the unlikely duo for the series produced by Amazon and both directed and penned by Woody.

Filming is set to begin in March for the six episodes, each of which will last half an hour. As for how Allen feels about creating a series for Amazon, he’s had regrets.

“Amazon kept coming to me and saying, please do this, whatever you want. I kept saying I have no ideas for it, that I never watch television,” confessed Woody. “And I have regretted every second since I said OK. It’s been so hard for me. I had the cocky confidence, well, I’ll do it like I do a movie… it’ll be a movie in six parts. Turns out, it’s not.”

While Allen is worried, Miley has no such fears about the series. Cyrus is stoked about doing the Amazon episodes, which will take place in the 1960s, reported E! News.

“F–k yeah! Stoked to be in Woody Allens first series!!!!!” shared Miley on social media.

Cyrus added that she was thinking that she would relax in 2016. But then came the call from Woody, and Miley just couldn’t resist.

“I had claimed 2016 to be my year of ‘chillin the f–k out’ but next to my bed for a few years now has been this portrait of W.A. & I was looking into his eyes when I got the call to be apart of the cast and work alongside the bad a$$ Elaine May & da dude himself! 1960zzzz here I [come],” posted Cyrus.

The vice president of Amazon Studios, Ray Price, expressed his own enthusiasm using some very different language.

“Woody Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time, and it’s an honor to be working with him on his first television series,” praised Price. “From Annie Hall to Blue Jasmine, Woody has been at the creative forefront of American cinema and we couldn’t be more excited to premiere his first TV series exclusively on Prime Instant Video next year.”

Although Miley and the famous director/actor have never been together in a movie, he did team up with Elaine May before in Small Time Crooks.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth Together Again

While the professional side of Miley’s life is soaring, so is her personal life. Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged once more, and Miley is sporting the same engagement ring that Liam presented her with in 2012, according to PopSugar.

Engaged again, Cyrus and Hemsworth were together several years ago, with Miley flaunting that sparkler on the red carpet. And apparently what appealed to them as a symbol of their togetherness the first time still works to show their love.

In addition to wearing that ring, Miley is living with Liam, reported the Daily Mail. They reunited last April after breaking up in 2013.

Cyrus and Hemsworth had announced their engagement the first time around in June 2012. As for wedding plans now?

Liam’s brother Chris Hemsworth was questioned regarding the engagement reports about Miley, as well as wedding plans.

“Not that I know of,” said Chris of family wedding plans in the future.

Miley Cyrus Unveils New Song

And just in case a new TV series and a re-engagement weren’t enough, Cyrus has unveiled a new song, reported People.

Turning to Instagram, Miley shared her song along with some information that might be TMI about zit cream.

“You land on every flower & use up all your power to demand peace … song writin and zit creaminnnn! Double timingggg!” posted Cyrus to accompany the clip. “Cuz I’m a womannnn….. W-o-m-a-n….. I’ll say it again.”

And that woman is very happy to be engaged again to Liam, a source told People.

“Miley is beyond happy to be engaged to Liam again,” said the source. “It might seem sudden, but they have been very close for the past few months.”

As for why they waited? Hemsworth wanted to keep it private for as long as possible, added the source.

“They just wanted to keep their relationship out of the spotlight while they figured things out. Liam never liked how exposed his life was with Miley.”
