Brian Wilson Starting World Tour To Play Beach Boys’ ‘Pet Sounds’ One Last Time — Dates Included

The legendary Beach Boys front man Brian Wilson is planning on a world tour to perform songs from the album Pet Sounds for the last time.

According to News Week, the 73-year-old singer and songwriter is embarking on the tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of what is arguably the Beach Boys’ most famous album. Pet Sounds was released in 1966 and features classic Brian Wilson songs like “God Only Knows,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” and “Sloop John B.”

Brian Wilson is taking his band to four different continents on a tour that will last seven months. Wilson will be playing in Australia, Japan, Europe, and the United States. On every single tour date, Brian Wilson plans to perform Pet Sounds from start to finish — the last time the album will ever be performed live.

“It’s really been a trip to sit here and think about releasing Pet Sounds 50 years ago,” said Brian Wilson. “I love performing this album with my band and look forward to playing it for fans all across the world.”

While the band won’t be performing Pet Sounds in its entirety ever again, it does appear that Brian Wilson is open to the idea of performing a few fan favorites here and there in the future.

The tour will kick-off on March 23 in Auckland, New Zealand, and come to a close on October 14 at Harrah’s Casino in Bijou, California. Brian Wilson will be doing over 70 performances, stopping to play at a few music festivals along the way.

While Brian Wilson is the last remaining Beach Boys member actively performing the hits, he will be reunited with one more original band member, Blondie Chaplin, at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana, on July 23.
