Tina Fey Reprises Sarah Palin Impression To Endorse Donald Trump On Saturday Night Live [Video]

Tina Fey was so excited about getting the chance to spoof Sarah Palin’s Donald Trump endorsement that she braved a blizzard to reprise her impression of the former Alaska governor.

Saturday Night Live was one of the few shows that went on in New York City as winter storm Jonas pretty much shut the town down. Tina Fey rewarded the SNL studio audience members who also braved the storm by putting her own folksy, funny spin on Sarah Palin’s much-talked about Donald Trump endorsement speech. Twitter totally predicted that this would happen.

During her latest SNL appearance, Tina Fey delivered a few lines that would even make Sarah crack a smile. In fact, one of Tina’s funniest lines might actually make Sarah feel a bit flattered because it pays her figure a compliment. E! News included the line of its list of Tina Fey’s wildest Sarah Palin quotes.

“I’m just here, ’cause he’s promised me a spot in his cabinet. And I belong in a cabinet, ’cause I’m full of spice and I’ve got a great rack,” Tina said.

Tina Fey seemingly wore the exact same cardigan that Sarah Palin was rocking when she endorsed Donald Trump at a campaign event in Iowa. The top looks rather dangerous, like it’s made out of the hide of a porcupine with silver needles. However, Tina wasn’t on Saturday Night Live to model the mom version of a studded biker vest – she was there to make Sarah regret not hiring a speech writer for her Trump endorsement.

Just like Sarah Palin, Tina Fey decided to get in touch with her inner poet by adding a little rhyme to her speech. She also peppered it with a few pop culture references.

“I’m here for all you teachers and teamsters. You farmers and charmers. Whether you’re a mom or two broke girls or three men and a baby, or a rock ‘n’ roller, holy roller, pushin’ stroller.”

According to the Huffington Post, Sarah Palin said something similar in her own Trump endorsement speech, and now she probably wishes that she’d thought of throwing in the stroller reference when she listed stay-at-home moms as some of America’s hardest workers. Instead, she referenced a Rebecca De Mornay movie.

“Looking around at all of you, you hard-working Iowa families, you farm families and teachers and teamsters and cops and cooks, you rock ‘n’ rollers and holy rollers,” Palin said. “All of you who work so hard, you full-time moms, you with the hands that rock the cradle.”

Palin also missed a golden opportunity to rhyme “cradle” with “ladle” by tossing the utensil into her word salad when she mentioned cooks.

Tina Fey dared to poke fun at the recent arrest of Sarah Palin’s son, Track Palin, during her SNL spoof speech. Tina also subtly referenced the way Sarah later tried to turn things around by explaining how her son is the real victim of his crime.

“We’ve seen our own children targeted by the police for no reason other than they committed some crimes,” Fey said.

According to Gawker, an intoxicated Track was arrested after his girlfriend told police that he punched her in the eye and threatened to shoot himself with an AR-15. Sarah Palin responded to the incident by making a crazy claim that’s so far out there that it almost seems like it had to be part of one of Tina Fey’s sketches – as Salon reports, she blamed Barack Obama for her son’s actions. Instead of expressing her sympathy for the victim of Track’s violent outburst, Palin tried to garner sympathy for her son by claiming that his actions were the result of PTSD. Palin complained that Obama doesn’t respect Iraq war veterans like her son who suffer from the condition.

Tina Fey didn’t mention Palin’s “Thanks, Obama!” moment, likely because she was too focused on jobs. However, she didn’t boast about all the jobs that Donald Trump is going to create by outsourcing his border wall to Mexico – instead, Tina’s Sarah lamented losing the lucrative gigs that she received as a consolation prize after she failed to become America’s first female vice president.

“I’m here because America is struggling. So many of us have lost our jobs at the factory or our reality shows about Alaska,” Fey said.

In case you don’t recall, Sarah and her family once starred in a TLC reality series titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Fey also referenced Fox News’ decision to give Palin the boot for the second time last year. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Sarah Palin believes that Fox News fired her because she expressed her support for a few of her fellow former TLC reality show stars, Jill and Jessa Duggar. Instead of mentioning the reason for Sarah’s firing, Tina made a funny about her stance on immigration.

“We turn on the news every morning and are shocked to see we’re not even on it, because we’ve been replaced by immigrants like Geraldo Rivera.”

Because Sarah Palin’s Donald Trump endorsement speech was so bizarre, Tina Fey was able to get laughs by repeating parts of it almost word-for-word. The line below is an example of this.

“They say Trump and his trumpeters are right-wingin’, bitter-clingin’, proud of clingers of our guns.”
