Make Your Jewelry Into New Memories From Breastmilk Like This Texas Mom Is Doing

Most people have jewelry lying around they are not doing anything with anymore. Why not do what a mom from Texas did? Although her business started out as a hobby, it is now a very popular business that is making her a good income while she gets to stay at home with her small boys. What is she doing with jewelry? It has to do with preserved breastmilk. That’s right. It might sound weird at first, but as you keep reading, you will start to think how cool it really is for her to do this for herself and other moms out there.

TheHouston Chronicle reports that this Lake Jackson, Texas, stay-at-home mom is using preserved breast milk to make jewelry out of it for herself and other moms who have requested it from her. Twenty-four-year-old Bridgette Boudreaux has turned a hobby into a great business for herself and her family. According to Boudreaux, once the milk is preserved, it is no longer in liquid form and can be made into jewelry for anyone who wants it done. She also says once it is done, the jewelry looks much like a pearl.

She also says that doing this not only brings back memories of when she breastfed her oldest son, and she is still breastfeeding her 4-month-old, but she also gets to hear stories from other moms who say how much of a bond this made between them and their baby. It may seem gross but if you really sit down and think about it, you will probably understand how really cool this is for anyone who has it done for them.

The Houston Chronicle also says that breastmilk jewelry isn’t the only things she makes. She also makes jewelry out of umbilical cords, placenta pieces, and baby hair. Although this is something that makes most moms happy, it is also kind of gross, except for the baby hair that is.

Boudreaux’s husband, at first, thought it was gross and weird about the breastmilk, umbilical cord, and placenta pieces jewelry, but after he watched her during the process of making them, he became amazed at what she was doing for herself and for other women who want to keep anything they can for memories of when their babies were babies.

When other moms found out she was able to do this for them, they started sending her their preserved breastmilk in small bags inside padded envelopes for protection.

Now, people don’t just make breastmilk jewelry but some people know how to take the ashes of a loved one who has died and make jewelry out of it too. Huffington Post reports that it is definitely true that some people know how to do this and will do it for anyone who wants it done, for a fee of course. Although there is no information on the price of something like this, it is more than likely a hefty price to pay.
