‘The Bachelor’ 2016 Spoilers — Episode 5: Two Go Home In Mexico And Drama Ensues

After a month of episodes in the 2016 season of The Bachelor, Ben Higgins has already lowered the number of women from the original 28 down to just 11 remaining. On the episode airing on ABC on Feb. 1, the remaining women and Ben Higgins head to Mexico City, Mexico, and a couple of ladies will have a long and lonely ride home. Meanwhile, there is a lot of drama coming from one woman that isn’t there to make friends.

Please let it be known that there are possible spoilers ahead for the new season of The Bachelor starring Ben Higgins. If you don’t want to know them, stop reading now.

One thing to remember before getting into the spoilers for this week is that Olivia Caridi got the “first impression rose” from Ben Higgins. As Bustle reported in early January, the first episode of the season saw Olivia win a rose for her first impression and that’s usually a good sign.

Just remember that little “first impression” tidbit for later.

The episode airing on Feb. 1 sees all the remaining players head to Mexico City, Mexico, after spending Episode 4 in Las Vegas. Starting things off, Reality Steve states that Ben takes Amanda on a one-on-one date in a hot air balloon ride, and she gets a rose from him.

The group date for Episode 5 will see nine women head out with Ben Higgins, and they go to a school where they learn Spanish phrases. Here is the list of women who head out on the group date: Caila, Olivia, Jubilee, Emily, JoJo, Lauren B., Becca, Jen, and Leah.

After learning their phrases, the ladies head out into town and have to speak to locals to find out where a particular restaurant is located. That is where they are to meet Ben, but there’s a bit more to this whole challenge.

Before that, they have to go to a local market and purchase food for later on in the night. They must also use their newly-learned phrases in this situation. The girls paired up for the challenge, but Olivia partnered up with Ben since there was an odd number of contestants.

The teams cooked a dish together with the food which saw Jubilee and Lauren ultimately win for best dish. It didn’t matter much, though, as Jubilee was sent home by Ben at the after-party and Olivia got the group date rose.

There is going to be one more date in the Feb. 1 episode of The Bachelor as well, and it has drawn a lot of social media attention. Lauren H. gets a one-on-one date with Ben Higgins and they take part in a fashion show.

Lauren H. got a rose for this date, and that’s it for the dates, but the drama is far from over at this point. Remember, Olivia got the “first impression rose” at the beginning of the season and put that into perspective.

During the cocktail party before the rose ceremony, Olivia made a snide remark toward Amanda about her being a “Teen Mom.” That didn’t sit well with Amanda and it stirred up even more bad feelings toward Olivia, who isn’t on the show to make friends.

Reality Steve makes it a point to single out that with the season being in its fifth episode by this point, and Olivia, the woman who got the first impression rose, has not yet had a one-on-one date with Ben.

It’s odd that Olivia doesn’t seem to have much of a sense of humor, especially since her glamour shots recently landed online as The Stir reported, and they’re a grand time.

Still, Olivia got the group date rose and is safe again this week. Jubilee was sent home on the group date, and during the rose ceremony, Jen Saviano was sent home as she did not receive a rose from Ben.

The Bachelor is really bringing a lot of drama for the 2016 season, and plenty of it is coming without Ben Higgins even being around. Olivia seems to thrive on it, but it could come back to bite her. Not this week, though, as Mexico City is kind to her.
