Are Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Officially Dating?
It looks like things are heating up between Katy Perry and rumored boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
Perry was spotted enjoying a night of theater with her Bloom on January 22, where actor James Lecesne snapped a photo with Katy and her supposed new man backstage, alongside his co-stars Vinessa Shaw and Kris Gifford.
Lecense took to Instagram to show off a photo of the couple appearing to be enjoying some time together backstage at the play The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, which is currently playing at Douglas Theatre in Culver City, California.
HollywoodLife.com also spotted the rumored couple out in California following the show, where it seemed like Katy and Orlando were enjoying each other’s company.
“They were out together in Culver City last night walking together, it looked like they were on a date,” a source told the site of Perry’s possible blossoming romance with Bloom. “[Katy] looked gorgeous and perfectly made up,” the source continued. “[B]ut she wasn’t dressed up she was wearing jeans and boots.”
The eyewitness also told the site that Katy and Orlando “weren’t holding hands” when they were spotted together in Culver City, “but they were walking very close together” and even looked pretty “cozy” during their January outing.
However, while it certainly looks like the two may be at the start of a budding romance, the source exclusively told the site that Perry and Bloom’s recent string of outings could be nothing more than a pre-work get together. “It was near the Sony Studios,” the source clarified of Katy and Orlando’s night out, adding, “so they could be working on something.”
Though Katy Perry is undoubtedly more well known for her mega-hits and show-stopping stage performances, a more prominent acting career isn’t out of the question for the “This Is How We Do” singer. Perry told Metro back in 2013 that she was actually looking to make the jump from voicing characters in animated movies to making an appearance in front of the camera on the big screen.
“With films, I hope to win you all over with animation and then do other films,” Perry said while promoting her role voicing Smurfette in the animated The Smurfs movie. “I am really interested in comedy, and I would really love to play Rachael in Blade Runner 2 if Ridley [Scott] would just call!” Katy joked.
Whether they’re just work friends or not, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have have been spotted getting pretty close on a number of occasions following what appeared to be a pretty flirty exchange earlier this month at a Golden Globes after party.

According to multiple eyewitnesses who saw Perry and Orlando at both the Weinstein and Co. and the Netflix award show after-parties, Katy allegedly enjoyed a dance off with the star while the two also shared a vape pen together.
The Daily Mail reported at the time that Perry and her alleged new man “were in a private enclave tucked away in the corner of the vast tented party space” at the after-show party and definitely seemed to be more than just casual friends. “[They] seemed to carry on as if they were more than just friends,” a source told the site earlier this month.
Just two days after Katy Perry appeared to be getting pretty close to Miranda Kerr’s ex on January 10, E! Online reported that Perry was spotted out once again with Orlando in Hollywood at the Stella McCartney Autumn 2016 Presentation on January 12.
