Shaq Traded To Cavs

Shaquille O’Neal (Shaq) has been traded to the Caveliers has part of the pre-dealing leading into today’s NBA Draft.

Under the deal, Shaq goes to Cleveland for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, the 46th pick in Thursday’s NBA draft and $500,000 according to numerous reports. The Suns currently hold the No. 14, 46, 48 and 57 picks.

The 37-year-old O’Neal was a third-team all-NBA pick after he averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, but would appear to be mostly a financial trade for The Suns, who will save $9 million a year with the deal.

As of late Wednesday night, the deal with awaiting final approval by both teams owners, although this is expected to be a formality with the official announcement Thursday morning.
