The feds unsealed the charges against five men allegedly involved in the killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry today, and are offering a bounty of $1 million for information that leads to their arrests.

Though a sixth suspect has already been jailed, the remaining five are still at large after reportedly engaging Terry’s patrol in a lethal gunfight on December 14, 2010 near the Mexico border, reports Newser. The fight claimed the life of Agent Terry, and the incident has since become a lightning rod in the case against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder over the ATF’s controversial “Fast and Furious” program. Terry’s killers were armed with AK-47′s that were later identified as being a part of that program, causing some to speculate as to the motive behind the $1 million bounty.

“I applaud what they’re doing, but I condemn the timing,” said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who led the push for contempt against Holder. “It’s very clear that the timing has everything to do with the House of Representatives holding Eric Holder in contempt,” telling Fox News that the bounty is unfortunately “another example of using politics over good policy.”

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga, Ivan Soto-Barraza, Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes and Lionel Portillo-Meza are charged by the Justice Dept. with crimes including first degree murder, second degree murder, conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, attempted interference with commerce by robbery, use and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, assault on a federal officer and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, reports CBS. “We will stop at nothing to bring those responsible for his murder to justice,” said Attorney General Eric Holder.
