Lamar Odom Health Update: Khloe Kardashian Divorce Moves Forward After Drug Overdose

As Lamar Odom continues to recover from his October 2015 drug overdose, his divorce from Khloe Kardashian is reportedly moving forward.

After Lamar Odom was found unconscious, his wife, Kardashian, of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, boarded a private jet and flew to his side. For days, however, the prognosis was bleak, and Odom remained in a coma. Still, Kardashian was dedicated and stayed with the former athlete until he woke up days later, and was transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles, where he would receive care closer to Kardashian’s Calabasas home.

Around the same time, Lamar Odom and Kardashian filed a request to have their divorce petition thrown out, which initially led fans to assume they were getting back together. However, that was not the case, and Kardashian’s relationship with James harden, of the Houston Rockets, continued.

Although Lamar Odom and Kardashian have not made any moves recently in regard to their impending divorce, a source spoke to Hollywood Life on January 20, claiming the reality star is planning her exit strategy.

“Khloe has had enough of being embarrassed by [Lamar Odom] and she wants to gracefully back out of their marriage,” the source explained.

Lamar Odom’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Kardashian, “has her new show to worry about and is focusing on her exit strategy so she can put her time into her show succeeding. She has decided not to film [Lamar Odom]’s recovery, for now, and really just wants him out of her life,” the source revealed.

Following Lamar Odom’s overdose, Kardashian and her family were accused of attempting to film him as he recovered, but while Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been airing for over two months now, Lamar Odom’s health crisis hasn’t been seen or spoken of.

“Khloe does not want to be stuck with [Lamar Odom]. As soon as he can take care of himself, which she hopes will be very soon, he will be out of her life for good,” the source added.

Throughout the last week, Kardashian has participated in a number of interviews as part of the promotional tour for her talk show, Kocktails With Khloe, which premieres tonight, and during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s late night series, Watch What Happens Live, she revealed she and Lamar Odom had made an adult film during their four-year marriage.

Then, during an interview on Live! With Kelly & Michael, Kardashian confirmed Lamar Odom was doing “great” since leaving the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, California last week.

“It’s such a relief. It was terrifying and scary,” Kardashian said, according to Us Weekly. “No one knew what was going to happen. And what’s crazy is because he’s an athlete, I really think having so many years of working out every single day — he wasn’t even walking three weeks ago, and now he’s walking.”

“We were able to leave the hospital — [Lamar Odom] was able to walk out of the hospital,” she continued. “And it was such a great thing. You get strolled on in there, he didn’t really even know where he was, and he [was] able to walk out on his own. So I’m happy for him and how he’s trying, and he’s really making great strides. And that’s a testament to his own will and desire to get better.”

Lamar Odom’s wife, Kardashian, will be featured in her new talk show, Kocktails With Khloe, tonight, January 20, at 10 p.m. on FYI, and can also be seen every Sunday night in Keeping Up With The Kardashians at 9 p.m. on the E! Network.
