Elton John And Lady Gaga Teaming Up On New Album

Elton John has conquered many worlds and decades, but now he is about to team up with Lady Gaga for a star-studded performance that fans are sure to love.

John has made waves all across the music industry now for decades and has been featured in many collaborations with big-name artists of their respective times. That includes the likes of George Michael, Eminem, and many others.

Nowadays, the aging British musician has set his sights on today’s biggest name in music and entertainment, Lady Gaga. According to NME, John and Gaga are both in the middle of recording new music for her latest album that is set to come out soon.

When Lady Gaga did an interview with Billboard, she let the cat out of the bag that she and legendary pianist, singer, and songwriter Elton John intended to team up with her following their conversations after the meek success of Artpop.

Gaga told the publication that Elton John became a big influence over her career when he and singer Tony Bennett both came to her with words of wisdom on how to handle the pressure and criticism of continued success in the music industry.

“There is nobody more bad*ss than Tony Bennett. That man is a part of the history of music in a way that is extremely powerful, and he taught me to stay true to who I am, to not let anybody exploit me,” Lady Gaga told Billboard. “He is responsible in so many ways for making me happy, and I can say the same for Elton [John]. When the whole industry turned their back on me during Artpop, they were the ones who said, ‘Hey, this is a blip. It’s going to go away.'”

With the kind of star power that Lady Gaga has today, mixed with legendary star power that Elton John has carried for decades, there is no doubt that their collaboration together is going to make some epic new tracks for fans of many generations, young and old, to enjoy.

When Elton John spoke with NME about what he has coming up, he seemed to have a lot of enthusiasm for what was to come.

“I’m writing with [Lady] Gaga tomorrow,” Elton John told NME. “I’ve heard two songs, which are killer. They’re just great songs. It’s like back to the early stuff of hers – like ‘You and I’ and the Bruce Springsteen one, ‘Bad Romance’.”

Of course fans of both Elton John and Lady Gaga all know that this will not mark the first time the pair have teamed up, although it will be the first time they have collaborated on an album.

Gaga and John both worked together for some film and TV projects. Their latest work has been on The Muppets Thanksgiving special for TV, and the last film they worked on together was Gnomeo and Juliet.

John did admit that Lady Gaga has had some recent bad luck in the music industry, quoted as saying that Artpop simply was not that good of an album. But he fell short of criticizing Gaga’s talent.

He in fact went on to praise Gaga for her work after the disappointing release of her last album, citing her tour with singer Tony Bennett, her cover of The Sound of Music at the Julie Andrews tribute, and her role in American Horror Story: Hotel.

Suffice it to say, Elton John is quite thrilled and very confident that his collaborations with Lady Gaga is going to be a hit success with fans. As with most of his music and entertainment pursuits, they usually are well received.

The album, Cheek to Cheek, will be released in September this year, and it will basically be a mashup of great jazz music.
