Faye Resnick Responds To Critics While Kathryn Edwards Addresses Lisa Rinna And Kyle Richards Bringing Up O.J.

Almost immediately after her first appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kathryn Edwards was embroiled in drama, thanks to her connection to the tragic killing of Nicole Brown Simpson, the infamous trial of O.J. Simpson for her murder, and Kyle Richards’ friend Faye Resnick, who wrote a book about Nicole’s life. In her first blog post, posted after the latest episode aired on Tuesday night, Kathryn talked about Lisa Rinna and Kyle bringing up the O.J. matter upon seeing her. She also talked about how she feels about Faye.

Kathryn said that she wasn’t happy that Lisa R. immediately brought up O.J. upon seeing her for the first time in years. Kathryn added that she doesn’t think that Lisa R. ever once saw her with O.J.

“Lisa Rinna is someone I have known for over 20 years, and although we hadn’t kept in contact over time, she’s always someone I enjoy running into…What I wasn’t happy about was that the first thing out of her mouth was O.J…really? OK, if that’s what you think when you see me, I guess I haven’t made much of any impression on you. Beside the fact that I don’t think Rinna ever saw me once with O.J., but whatever…I’ll give her new memories.”

As for Kyle asking her, during the group’s later gathering for drinks, whether she knew Faye, Kathryn admitted that she was expecting the question. Kathryn added that despite what Kyle thinks, she was simply irritated by the question.

“The writing was on the wall, and I was expecting it. I wasn’t defensive, not even slightly. I expected it, but the truth is that Faye has never met me. I don’t even know if she knows what I look like. I think ‘irritated’ is a better word than defensive, because for years I got a bad taste in my mouth at the thought of Faye Resnick for a litany of reasons–not all personal to me–but nonetheless, I’m not a fan. I know Kyle and Faye are friends, so I can only surmise that there must be something that I don’t see in Faye, something redeeming. People can change, right?”

On the latest episode, Kathryn Edwards, the season’s last starring housewife to make her appearance, showed up to Lisa Vanderpump’s Hero Dog Awards pre-party. Upon seeing her, Lisa Rinna, after a few lines of pleasantries, declared that she can’t stop thinking about O.J.

“You know what’s flashing on me more than anything right now? O.J.”

Kathryn was again reminded about her link to the O.J. saga when the women left the party to get cocktails somewhere else. Kyle Richards, who is good friends with Faye Resnick, asked Kathryn if she was married to Marcus Allen. After Kathryn confirmed that she was, Kyle asked if she knew Faye. Kathryn denied that she did. Kyle said that she’s very close with Faye and figured that Kathryn and Faye must know one another somehow.

“Never met her. Ever. No. I never met her. I mean I was only married for a year when…when the s** hit the fan…She says she knows me. She doesn’t. I didn’t hang out with that group at all.”

Kyle didn’t seem very convinced by Kathryn’s answer. She then said in her interview that Kathryn’s answer to a simple question seemed “a little aggressive.”

In her interview, Kathryn explained that Faye wrote about her disparagingly.

“My feelings about Faye Resnick are not positive. She mentioned me in her book. I never read it but in the book she referenced me and said that I was just some kind of ‘turn the blind eye, look the other way’ kind of wife. There’s a lot of things you can say about me. That is not one of them.”

Kathryn and her then-husband, Marcus Allen, were friends with O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson. In 1994, after Nicole’s murder, Faye wrote a book, Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted. In the book, Faye claimed that Marcus had an affair with Nicole.

Faye received some criticism after her name and what she wrote was brought up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In response to one person who tweeted that Faye would’ve played herself on American Crime Story, the new TV show on FX about O.J.’s trial, if she was given the chance, Faye said that she actually doesn’t want to relive the devastating tragedy.

Faye then agreed with a viewer that it must be weird to have a murdered friend be fodder for reality TV. Faye added that she’s upset that the network would air something so hurtful.

A preview for next week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills shows that viewers will see Kathryn Edwards and Faye Resnick come face to face. While Faye tells Kyle Richards that she’s not ready to have a conversation with Kathryn, Kathryn looks ready for a fight.
