Powerball Jackpot: When Is The Next Winning Numbers Results And Live Drawing? [Videos, Photos]

The Powerball jackpot continues to climb after there was no winner last Saturday. The next Powerball drawing takes place on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at 10:59 p.m. ET. You can watch the Powerball drawing live as the winning numbers results come in and see if you will be the next winner. The jackpot is at $50 million, and if no one matches all five white numbers and the one red Powerball tomorrow night, the jackpot will continue to rise. Since the record-breaking $1.5 billion jackpot resulted in three winners, there’s been greater interest in the lottery as well as demand for winning number results as soon as they are drawn.

The last Powerball drawing took place on Saturday, and the winning numbers were: 3, 51, 52, 61, 64, and the Powerball was 6. And while there were several $2 million and $1 million winners and those who won smaller prizes, the jackpot rolled over from $40 million to $50 million.

The jackpot previously rose to $1.5 billion after failing to have a jackpot winner for over two months. The large Powerball jackpot caused people who never considered playing the lottery to buy tickets. Some even stood in hour-long lines in order to play. Although the current Powerball jackpot is $50 million with a cash value of $31.8 million and long lines aren’t wrapping around city sidewalks, there are many who are vying for the chance to be the next Powerball jackpot winner.

One of the most entertaining hashtags to surface on Twitter since Powerball fever hit the nation is #ifIwonPowerball. Here are a few creative photos from Twitter sharing ideas and creative ways to spend a Powerball jackpot.

On October 7, 2015, Powerball launched 7.0. The changes means that the white balls used in each drawing would be 69, and there would be less red Powerballs: 26. Due to these changes, the Powerball jackpots would increase and more people would win other prizes. In addition to these changes, the Power Play changed as well. The Power Play costs $1 and enables people to double or multiply their winnings.

People from all walks of life play Powerball. You must be 18-years-old in order to play, and you should only play what you can afford to lose. It’s never a wise idea to invest more money than you can lose into buying lottery tickets. Powerball is a game, but it is also gambling. Set aside a budget for “entertainment” purposes and purchase your Powerball tickets from that entertainment fund.

One story that came out of the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot madness and reported by the Tampa Bay Times has left people in a bit of shock. Two men, Shane Krugman and Ryan McGuinness organized a pool with 270 friends that resulted in buying $146,000 worth of Powerball tickets. They were aiming for the $1.5 billion dollar jackpot and after tallying their wins, determined the pool won $13,275. They hoped the large pool would increase their odds of winning, but after failing to win the Powerball jackpot, they reinvested their earnings into Saturday’s Powerball jackpot. They did win $1,000 but say they won’t organize another pool unless the Powerball jackpot hits $500 million.

How about you? How much would you spend on Powerball lottery tickets in hopes of winning the jackpot? Is there a certain jackpot amount that you’ll play for, or do you play every week, whether the jackpot is $40 million, $50 million, or $500 million? Are you going to watch the Powerball drawing live tomorrow night? Have you purchased your ticket or tickets and played for your chance to match the winning numbers?
