Rosie O’Donnell: No End To Feud With Adopted Daughter Chelsea In Sight [Video]

Rosie O’Donnell reportedly hasn’t given up on her daughter, Chelsea, with whom she has been estranged since last year. Rosie recently shared a message to Chelsea over Instagram, urging her adopted daughter to return home.

The message Rosie shared on January 13 is a photo of herself with Chelsea, and it appears to be of happier times between the two women. In the caption, Rosie shared a parable that she hopes might bring her daughter back.

Rosie O’Donnell added “help awaits as hope dwindles” to the intimate caption, showing that the mother is not sure the situation with her adopted daughter will resolve any time soon. She also sent a personal message to Chelsea, sharing the hashtag #comeONkid to urge the teenager to return. Last August, Chelsea went missing, and Rosie reached out to the public for help finding her. According to Rosie, Chelsea suffers from mental illness, and needed to be found.

Chelsea was eventually found in the home of an older man she met on Tinder, and since O’Donnell was underage at the time, the man had been facing criminal charges. The charges, and a no contact order, have since been dropped at Chelsea’s request. The teenager was located just days before her 18th birthday, and as soon as she became an adult, Chelsea left Rosie O’Donnell’s Nyack, New York, home to live with her birth mother. Chelsea O’Donnell was “disappointed” with her birth mother, however, and left after only six days.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, O’Donnell revealed that she is “glad to have closure on that part of my life,” and has “no desires to continue a relationship with the woman who gave birth to me.”

On December 16, Chelsea confessed that for the time being, she has no contact with her younger siblings as she and Rosie continue to feud. The Daily Mail reports that Rosie is requiring her daughter to go to a year-long therapy program in Texas before allowing her to see the siblings she’s been longing to visit.

When she was 13, Rosie sent her adopted daughter to a private girls school in Utah. Chelsea explained in the interview that she’s desperate for another solution, citing that she’s been in the hospital frequently because of stress. She’s had stomach pains and bouts of dizziness, at one point while she was driving.

O’Donnell also revealed that the offer to go to Texas is the last help that Rosie plans to offer. In a text message between the two women, Rosie told her daughter that she’s sunk to a new low, and is requiring Chelsea to go to therapy for a year before allowing her back into her life. When the offer was rebuffed, Rosie made it clear that her daughter is gone for good.

As an adult, Chelsea explained that she feels she’s been to enough therapy, even though Rosie O’Donnell and Kelli Carpenter, her other adopted mom, feel the teen needs more help. The teenager explained the program, adding that for the first 60 days, she would have few privileges, but after, she can have her own apartment and car.

According to O’Donnell, she just wants to move on with her life and life normally, not in a therapy center. For now, Chelsea is living with friends in Massapequa, New York, while she sorts things out. Although Chelsea claims she’s happy there, Rosie O’Donnell apparently is not, and has sent text messages to her friend’s mother, at times making the woman cry.

Chelsea also confessed that she’s received text messages from Rosie O’Donnell, accusing her of being on drugs. The teen confirms that this is not true.
