Lil Wayne Walks Off Stage In Italy After Throwing Mic: Is He Ready To Retire?
Lil Wayne walked off stage during a performance in Italy in now-viral video footage that has started circulating online and through social media.
TMZ reports that the longtime rapper apparently gave up during his set after the crowd did not seem to be engaged with his performance. The footage shows the energetic rapper performing during the Philip Plein show for Milan Fashion Week.

If you listen closely, you can hear Lil Wayne asking the crowd to put their hands up before he started dropping bars on stage. Like most popular performers, the “Believe Me” rapper likely expected the crowd to erupt with excitement as he hopped on stage — eagerly throwing their hands up in the air immediately after he asked them to do so.
In one particular tweet posted on Saturday, Lil Wayne stated “n*ggaz in Italy slime.” Several hours later, he posted another tweet that simply read “Go Pack f’n Go!!!”
Perhaps the platinum-selling rapper (born Dwayne Carter) thought that he would receive the same type of energy and response from his audience as he did last September at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
However, as seen in the footage of him walking off stage in Italy, that is not what happened at all.
It seems as if a very small group of people tossed at least one hand in the air when Lil Wayne made his on-stage request. The rest of the crowd seemed unaffected and even uninterested in the Young Money rapper being on stage in the first place.
Instead of finishing his performance, Lil Wayne threw his microphone in the air and stormed off stage — offering no explanation to the crowd before he left. Footage of the Young Money founder getting frustrated at different points of his performance have now gone viral in the form of clips shared on Twitter.

One particular tweet suggests that Lil Wayne’s frustration had more to do with the censoring of his backing track than the audience’s reaction.

Keep in mind that Lil Wayne has been performing for nearly 20 years now. He has more than likely faced an uninterested audience before in the past — especially when he was just starting out as a young rapper with Cash Money Records. Chances are that he did not let his frustration get the best of him the way he did when he walked off stage in Italy.
Even if the backing track was censored, he could have easily worked his way through the rest of his performance and then expressed his frustrations with the people in charge behind the scenes after all was said and done.
Is Lil Wayne perhaps entering the final phase of his career before he retires?
In a September, 2013, interview with Katie Courie, the 33-year-old rapper opened up about his career, prison sentence, and passion for skateboarding, as well as his decision to retire in his 30s.
“I know I’ll be able to retire at 35, because I am so ready to retire now.”
Lil Wayne, who will turn 34 in September, also confirmed with MTV News that his highly-anticipated solo album Tha Carter V, will be his final album. He stated that “it’d be impossible for [him] to work this hard again for anything else” unless he was paid “$25 to 35 million” dollars.
Many fans and critics believe that the constant delays of Tha Carter V are connected to the rumored tension that is going on behind closed doors at his label.
Lil Wayne himself spoke up about the tension in a Twitter rant back in December, 2014.
To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.

Whether Lil Wayne deciding to walk off the stage during a performance in Italy will result in him deciding to retire or not is still unclear. One thing that is clear, though, is that it will likely result in a vast number of viral internet memes and punchlines.
