Teresa Giudice & Jacqueline Laurita Make Amends During ‘RHONJ’ Season 7

Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita weren’t on good terms when fans last saw them on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but recently, things between them took a turn for the better. Following Teresa Giudice’s release from prison, the mother of four and her former best friend reportedly made amends.

A year ago, said an Us Weekly insider on January 15, “Andy [Cohen] had asked [Teresa Giudice] if she wanted a friendship with Jacqueline. [Teresa Giudice] said no.”

In the past, Teresa Giudice’s behavior on the Bravo reality series has been a turn off for her past and present co-stars, including Laurita, Caroline Manzo, and Melissa Gorga. However, now that she’s spent nearly a year behind bars, she seems to have changed her ways.

In October 2014, after pleading guilty to a number of charges of bank and wire fraud, Teresa Giudice and her husband attended a sentencing hearing in New Jersey, and both received prison sentences. While Teresa Giudice was given a 15-month term, which she began in January of last year, her husband, Joe Giudice, received a 41-month sentence, which he will start serving in early March.

Initially, when Teresa Giudice attempted to reconcile her years-long friendship with Laurita, Laurita wasn’t convinced she was genuine, but after spending some time with the reality star, post-prison, things between them were settled.

“[Teresa Giudice] reached out to Jacqueline, but Jacqueline didn’t think it was genuine,” the source says. “Then they all taped a scene together, hashed everything out and made up.”

Just weeks ago, days after Teresa Giudice was released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, she and her co-stars, including her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, the wife of her brother, rang in the New Year together in New Jersey — and they weren’t alone. Also including in the festivities, according to the magazine were new housewives Robyn Levy and Cristina Flores, a lesbian couple rumored to have been added to the cast for season seven.

“They were genuinely getting along,” the magazine source added of Teresa Giudice and Gorga, who’ve had issues in the past. “So far, it’s legitimately been fine!”

As Teresa Giudice returns to filming, she has been fairly limited when it comes to what she is allowed to do due to her current house arrest sentence. After leaving prison, Teresa Giudice was put on house arrest, but she is allowed to leave her home if it is first approved with those in charge of her probation.

Just last night, Teresa Giudice made her first red carpet appearance, along with her oldest daughter, 14-year-old Gia Giudice, at the opening of Gorga’s New Jersey boutique, Envy by Melissa Gorga. During the event, Teresa Giudice spoke to E! News.

“I’m feeling great,” Teresa Giudice said on Thursday night. “I’m happy to be here to support my brother and my sister-in-law Melissa for the grand opening on her boutique Envy.[Melissa] has great style and you see her on the red carpet and you see her being photographed, so, and you can tell from the photographs that she has great style.”

“My background is fashion. I went to school for fashion,” Teresa Giudice continued. “I used to work at Macy’s Herald Square in the buying office and I also was on the vendor side. I worked for Nine West and Calvin Klein handbags. So, I have a fashion background. She has her mommy.”

Teresa Giudice, Jacqueline Laurita and the rest of the cast will return to Bravo later this year for The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7.
