‘FNaF World’ Coming To Steam, PC, and Android on February 19th 2016

Five Nights at Freddy’s developer, Scott Cawthon (Scott Games), has just announced that the highly anticipated FNaF World will be released February 19th on Steam for PC, Android, and iOS. Scott recently posted the news on the Steam community board,

FNaF World is coming along very well, despite these delays, and I plan on releasing it February 19th on Steam, and then for Android and iPhone in the following weeks! I will also release a demo on GameJolt!

Gamespot reports that FNaF World was announced on September 15 of last year thus causing fans to anticipate at least a demo of the computer game sometime during the past holiday season.

However Scott admitted that he had some significant delays in production. World is “coming along well,” he said, despite the fact that the computer he used to make the original FNaF games, and some of FNaF World, “bit the dust,” as he put it.

“It’s still quite a delay to get a new machine and reconfigure software,” he added.

So far, FNaF is unlike every other horror game, or even movie, for that matter. There’s no telling when you’ll jump out of your seat. This is what makes the jump-scare element in FNaF so brilliant because in other forms of horror media, you’ll know what’s coming and when after the first time.

FNaF manages to do this with animatronic characters which were supposed to be made for children in FNaF–not intended to be scary intially. The Inquisitr reports that FNaF and friends are basically Chuck E. Cheese and the gang from hell.

If you’ve ever pulled apart the curtains at Chuck E. Cheese between “performances” as a child, then you’ll understand the erie and sinister inspiration of the FNaF games. Now imagine being trapped in the facility with them all night– an utter nightmare.

FNaF World will be very different from its predecessors however. PC Gamer reports that FNaF World will still feature the same murderous animatronics from previous FNaF games but will be a more traditional turn-based style RPG.

Players will build their party using FNaF characters with Freddy himself on the front lines of battle. Another huge difference with FNaF World will be the emphasis on “cuteness,” as described in the trailer. Cawthon has also announced that FNaF World will not be a horror title.

Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie are “cute” now.

Scott previously announced that Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 will be the last installment, however he is still playing with the FNaF universe with this latest edition.

There’s no telling exactly what the theme or true narrative of the FNaF will be just from probing images and the trailer so far.

However, the idea of FNaF as a turn-based RPG has already gained popular notoriety among fans as a fan-made adaption of this has already been created. Perhaps Scott’s version, of his own game to begin with, will perfect the idea of a FNaF RPG.

And if you think that you’ll miss the traditional horror elements of the FNaF franchise, then don’t fret. Because according to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. picked up the rights to FNaF, and there is a film in the works.

Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions will develop the horror franchise.

PC Gamer reported that Lee produced horror hits like The Ring and The Grudge. An impressive body of work which should give momentum to a successful FNaF film, however fans probably shouldn’t hold their breath for the release.

Similar to the surprise-tactic content of his games, Scott has been known to release his games, sometimes months ahead of schedule, catching fans off guard. So there’s a chance that gamers can get their hands on FNaF World before before February 19th.
