Yolanda Foster Talks Lyme Disease After ‘RHOBH’ Divorce Announcement

Yolanda Foster had a rough 2015. In addition to struggling with symptoms of Lyme disease, which eventually led her to undergo a breast explant surgery, as fans saw on Tuesday’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the reality star and mother of three announced plans for divorce.

Following four years of marriage, most of which were spent searching for a Lyme disease cure, Yolanda Foster announced she and husband David, a well known music producer, were parting ways. However, although Yolanda Foster revealed the news in early December, just hours before the sixth season premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she didn’t officially file until recently. It was also a bit strange that Yolanda Foster chose to reveal the news hours before the premiere when she and David had separated the month before, as Hollywood Life revealed.

Then, days after the Bravo reality show’s premiere, Yolanda Foster called into an episode of Andy Cohen’s late night show, Watch What Happens Live, where she spoke candidly about her split from David, and admitted that her Lyme disease diagnosis, which occurred just months after she and David wed, changed the dynamic in their relationship.

“We had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever. Unfortunately it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way,” Yolanda Foster told Cohen, via People Magazine. “The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shed the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times.”

Since splitting from David last year, Yolanda Foster has moved into a new condo in Los Angeles, where she is currently getting settled.

In her Bravo TV blog on January 13, Yolanda Foster spoke of her next chapter, and revealed a new update on her Lyme disease.

“I’m still unpacking, waiting for furniture and window treatments, still settling in, though nothing during transition ever feels like it’s settling. For every box that opens, another memory rises, but it’s with all of the past that I manifest energy for a bright future. I’m determined to brew into something really good. I realize my time is now and that this is not a dress rehearsal. That said, bootstraps up and time to dive into the next chapter, which is just the beginning of Lyme Life 2.0: doing it, whatever it takes!”

At the beginning of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6, Yolanda Foster was seen at her worst. She was living in David’s Los Angeles condo, and dealing with a heap of symptoms stemming from her Lyme disease diagnosis. She was also seen breaking down over her illness while speaking to her friend, Angie Simpson, the mother of pop singer Cody Simpson, who used to date her daughter, Gigi Hadid. Then, as the episodes continued, she appeared to be doing better.

In addition to going for a walk with her friends, Erika Jayne and Kyle Richards, Yolanda Foster announced plans to undergo an explant surgery that she hoped would help manage her Lyme disease symptoms, and so far, the surgery seems to have helped Yolanda Foster a lot.
