Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter Arrested For Bar Fight In Key West

Nick Carter, who has a history of substance abuse and arrests, was handcuffed and taken into custody once again, this time in Key West for a bar fight. Nick Carter was photographed face down on the ground while being cuffed and taken into custody. As of this morning, Carter was still in police custody.

According to Us Magazine, Nick Carter was taken into custody at the Monroe County Detention Center. Carter, 35, was arrested for misdemeanor battery in a bar called the Hog’s Breath Saloon just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night. This is not Carter’s first arrest. He was a one-time member of Backstreet Boys and, more recently, a participant on Dancing with the Stars.

Hollywood Life reported that Nick Carter got into a scuffle at what is considered a seedy bar.

“The boy bander got himself into a little trouble according to an eyewitness, when a chill night hanging out at a place called the Hog’s Breath Saloon turned into a bar room scuffle,” according to a bar patron. After a while, the cops were called and Nick was busted for the altercation.”

Carter is married, and the couple is expecting their first child soon.

“Well what surprises me is — it’s not as difficult as people say at this moment. The delivery stage and all that, I will have anxiety — but overall I am having a good time,” he explained to Hollywood Life.

The bar fight seems ironic, as Carter seemed to be in a good place recently.

“I’ve really been thinking about living in the moment and enjoying every day that I have with my wife,” he continued. “I’m enjoying the process, because I’ve heard that your life will change and your priorities will change and that’s great. So we are enjoying the time we have right now.”

Cosmopolitan revealed the Nick Carter has been arrested before, also related to time in a bar. In 2002, Carter was arrested in Tampa, Florida, while driving drunk. Carter pled guilty and spent three months in an alcohol rehab treatment center.

RadarOnline says that Carter comes from a family with serious problems. When Carter’s sister Leslie died of drug overdose, Carter did not attend the funeral.

“There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.”

Carter admits that he has been drinking since he was a child. Carter was allegedly a 2-year-old when he took his first drink.

“Family legend has it that when I was two years old, I crawled into one of the Yankee Rebel’s liquor storage rooms where I was caught drinking for the first time,” he said. “My parents always laughed at that. I laughed too, for a while, and then I didn’t laugh at it any more.”

Carter admits that the last time he tried rehab, he was still under the influence.

“Carter said he went to rehab at Promises Malibu while still drunk and on cocaine, but after a tour and interview, he decided to try rehab on his own.”

Nick Carter was also arrested in 2002 and again in 2005, that time for failing to follow police instructions during an arrest. Carter allegedly finally got clean when he was diagnosed with the heart condition cardiomyopathy.

“I woke up in a hotel room with my head pounding so hard I couldn’t focus my eyes… I decided my body was trying to get me to pay attention one last time…. It was change or die.”

Carter says that he is now living a healthier lifestyle.
