Karrueche Tran Dating After Chris Brown Split, Model Admits To Being ‘Guarded’ Following Breakup
Karrueche Tran may have split from longtime boyfriend Chris Brown nearly one year ago, but it seems that the model is finally ready to get back into the dating scene following her tumultuous split from Brown last year.
Karrueche Tran announced her official split from Chris Brown via Twitter in 2015 after discovering that Brown had fathered a child with model Nia Guzman while they were taking a break from their on-again, off-again relationship. While Tran admitted to still being in love with Chris Brown despite the nature of their breakup, the model has been adamant about not reconciling with Chris.
Now, it appears that Karrueche is ready to move on romantically from Brown, telling her Twitter followers on Tuesday that she’s struggling to find “a place between being guarded and opening up” when it comes to dating.
While it’s unclear who Karrueche may be interested in dating following her split from Chris Brown, the model was previously reported to have been dating Danish DJ Morten in December.
A source close to Karrueche Tran revealed to ET that Tran and DJ Morten had been “dating for a few weeks” prior to the holiday season. However, Tran’s rep later shot down the claims by insisting that the model remains single despite the new dating rumors.
Karrueche was also rumored to be getting cozy with Tyson Beckford, whom Chris Brown had a heated public feud with last year after Beckford shared a photo of himself and Tran hanging out in Las Vegas over the Memorial Day weekend, but neither Tyson nor Karrueche have commented on those claims.
While Karrueche has ignited dating rumors with a few men since calling it quits from Chris Brown, the model previously revealed to Kontrol Magazine that she’s struggling to find love because of the attention surrounding her and Brown’s past relationship.
“I think people are intimidated by the drama [from my past relationship] and not wanting to deal with it because it’s an ongoing story. I’m very guarded and very too myself.”
Karrueche further explains that while she wants to be able to move on from Brown, she doesn’t feel confident that she’s “mentally” ready due to “all the stuff that I’ve been through.”
“I haven’t really explored dating just yet,” Tran dispels rumors that she’s romantically linked to anyone following her breakup with Chris Brown, “It’s a lot to open up to somebody.”

While Karrueche Tran is currently focused on her career, having recently launched a collaborative collection with Colourpop cosmetics called “KaePop,” Karrueche and Chris Brown’s on-again, off-again relationship continues to tie the former couple together in the headlines.
Last month, Chris Brown fans lashed out at Karrueche on social media after paparazzi obtained photos of the model wearing a diamond ring that Brown previously gifted to her for Christmas in 2014.
After fans began bashing Karrueche’s decision to wear the ring, especially given the model’s previous statements about not wanting to be associated with Brown, Tran took to Instagram to offer an explanation as to why she continues to wear the ring from her ex, The YBF reports.
“I wear this ring when I want to because it’s my ring,” Tran responded to the hate on Instagram.
“It’s on THAT finger because it keeps men away. Simple as that.”
