‘DWTS’ Pro Mark Ballas Engaged To BC Jean [Report]

DWTS pro Mark Ballas is engaged to BC Jean, according to reports. Although the couple has not formally announced their plans to wed, multiple sources are reporting Ballas proposed on November 25, 2015 — and his long-term girlfriend said “yes.” Sources have also confirmed BC Jean is wearing an engagement ring.

According to the unnamed source, who provided the information to Us Magazine, DWTS star Mark Ballas and BC Jean have been engaged for nearly two months. However, they “have been keeping the exciting news on the down-low, as they wanted to celebrate and enjoy the holidays with close friends and family.”

A native of Houston, Texas, Mark Alexander Corky Ballas, Jr., learned to play the guitar at the age of 9. Three years later, he began writing his own music.

As he displayed an incredible talent, Ballas was accepted at the prestigious
Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where he studied acting, dance, and singing. While attending the academy, he also honed his skills playing the bass, drums, and guitar.

MarkBallas.com explains that the talented performer graduated from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts with honors.

Although he was well known in the United Kingdom for his starring role in Copacabana and his position as the lead dancer in Maria de Buenos Aires, he got his big break in the United States when he joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars in 2007.

Dancing with the Stars, which debuted in 2005, is an American reality television program inspired by the British series Strictly Come Dancing.

During each season of the popular series, professional dancers are paired with celebrities for a dance competition. Throughout the season, the celebrities and their partners choreograph, practice, and perform a new dance number each week. The duos are eliminated one by one until only the winning team remains.

ABC reports Mark Ballas has been a finalist on the program seven times. He and his partner former figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi won the competition during Season 6. He also won Season 8 with partner Shawn Johnson, who is a former Olympic gymnast.

As the series remains incredibly popular, it was recently renewed for its 22nd season.

A native of San Diego, California, Brittany Jean Carlson is best known by her stage name BC Jean. A talented actress, singer, and songwriter, she began playing piano and writing songs before the age of 14.

At the age of 23, BC Jean released her debut single “If I Were a Boy,” which was made popular by Beyoncé in 2008.

She also appeared in numerous television programs, including a recurring role on The Talent Show. She is also credited as a writer for The X Factor.

DWTS pro Mark Ballas and BC Jean were engaged the day before Thanksgiving 2015, according to reports. However, they have been dating since 2012.

In a September 2015 interview with InStyle, Ballas discusses the band Alexander Jean, which features the professional dancer and his girlfriend. Although juggling the band with his DWTS schedule may seem daunting, Mark said he is equally dedicated to both.

“I’m used to the hectic schedule. I was always in school bands and musicals, and constantly living the life of a young entertainer. During the day I have rehearsals, and at night I work on the music. It’s second-nature to me at this point. Everything is going on every day. It’s always go-time.”

Alexander Jean’s debut single, “Roses and Violets,” hit No. 4 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart.

DWTS pro Mark Ballas has not confirmed he and BC Jean are engaged. However, the actress and singer was reportedly wearing the ring while she and Mark were performing at Los Angeles’ Viper Room last week.
