DJ Khaled And Drake Teaming Up For A New Project? Producer Says They’re ‘Up To Something’ On Instagram

Drake may be busy gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated studio album, Views From the 6, while igniting collaboration rumors with Rihanna, but it looks like Drake is also fueling conversation about a potential upcoming collaboration with DJ Khaled.

Just days after Drake’s producer, Noah “40” Shebib, took to Instagram to hint that Drake’s Views From the 6 is on its way, Drake sent fans into a frenzy on Sunday with rumors of a new collaboration and music video with Rihanna.

Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that Drake and Rihanna were going to be filming a music video for their rumored collaborative track, “Work,” after an alleged casting call for the project surfaced online. The casting call revealed that the duo would be filming in Los Angeles from January 8-9 and was seeking both male and female actors to serve as “horseback riders” and “cops” for the mysterious video, All Hip Hop reports.

Sure enough, just one day after the duo were rumored to be filming the secret project in Los Angeles, photos of Drake and Rihanna’s alleged music video set began surfacing on social media alongside a brand new preview of the duo’s track.

In addition to the hype surrounding Drake and Rihanna’s upcoming music video, DJ Khaled also fueled excitement for the project when he took to Snapchat to hint that he and Drake are working on something new together.

In his brief Snapchat video, DJ Khaled tells followers that he’s “up to something” before tuning the camera to reveal that Drake is sitting next to him.

“Major key. Cloth alert. Be ready,” DJ Khaled revealed alongside a caption that reads, “Major *key emoji* special cloth alert stay tuned be ready.”

Drake seemingly weighed-in on the rumors after he took to Instagram to like DJ Khaled’s Instagram post about their rumored collaboration. In the post, DJ Khaled shared a screenshot of his Snapchat video featuring Drake before adding the caption, “Bless up…I will never stop…IM UP TO SOMETHING!! #Wethebest #ovo @wethebestmusic @djkhaled x @champagnepapi major *key emojis* alert!!!”

Hours after fans began gushing over the idea of a DJ Khaled and Drake collaboration, DJ Khaled further fueled new music rumors after he shared a video of himself and Drake’s alleged meetup at Rihanna’s video shoot last night.

In the video, Drake and DJ Khaled can be seen hanging outside while surrounded by production vans, lights, and camera crews before stopping to snap a few pictures together and listen to some music via a nearby vehicle. The video ends with the words “We The Best” in reference to Khaled’s record label, which has also led to speculation that DJ Khaled may not be involved in Drake and Rihanna’s video and rather that he and Drake are working on new music together.

The hype surrounding Drake’s upcoming collaborations comes just days after producer Noah “40” Shebib took to Instagram to share a cryptic message about Drake’s impending Views From the 6 album.

In his post, Shebib shared a photo of a computer file that’s appropriately titled, “VIEWS,” leading fans to believe that Drake’s impending album may finally be finished after months of false release date rumors, Complex reports.

Despite claims that suggested Drake would drop the album on January 6, Drake took to Instagram on Wednesday to seemingly shut down the claims by revealing that he was still in the process of recording the album by sharing a photo of himself taking a “studio break” while playing ping pong with a friend.

While no new rumors currently exist regarding a tentative release date for Views, it looks like there’s plenty of new Drake music to come in the near future.
