Katy Perry marked Independence Day early by sporting red, white and blue eyelashes at Tuesday’s UK premiere of her new 3D film, Katy Perry: Part of Me … or perhaps this was a gesture to her British hosts?
The 27-year-old cavorted down a pink carpet outside the Empire cinema in Leicester Square, tirling a Union Jack umbrella and battling her bejeweled lashes at the cameras. Earlier that day, she’d even given her followers on Twitter “>a hint at what was coming:
“IT’S THE ♥LONDON♥ PREMIERE! Even my lashes are excited! See you soon! #KP3D”
The walkways and paths outside the Empire had been tarted up to look like a candy cane lane, and Perry kept up the theatrical vibe with her outfit (see below), a Marchesa trumpet dress from the high-profile designer’s fall 2012 collection:
By Wednesday, the eyelash bling was gone, but Perry was still in the spotlight, draped in the Stars and Stripes in New York as she headlined with Kenny Chesney for the Macy’s Fourth of July “Ignite the Night” fireworks spectacular.
While there, she also had the responsibility of triggering the U.S.’s largest display of patriotic fireworks madness.
