Anne Hathaway Baby Bump Picture Signals Changes, Moving Toward ‘One Goal’

Anne Hathaway has started off 2016 with a glowing picture of her pregnant self. The Oscar-winning actress confirmed her pregnancy by posting a picture to her Instagram account. In the picture, Anne Hathaway is wearing a red bikini with an ocean of waves in the background. She was with husband Adam Shulman on vacation in Hawaii. According to Yahoo! Celebrity News, she captioned the picture:

“Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends! So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :). Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead! Annie.”

Anne Hathaway has tried very hard to maintain her privacy, in spite of being one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actresses. By releasing her own picture she was able to share her good news with her fans while not so subtly calling out paparazzi for taking unofficial pictures of her.

Anne Hathaway began dating actor Adam Shulman in 2008, and after becoming engaged in November 2011, the two were married on September 29, 2012 in Big Sur, California. News of Anne Hathaway being pregnant came out in November 2015. As Entertainment Weekly reported, the news came from a source close to the actress, and not Anne Hathaway herself. In fact, her bikini picture is the first time that Anne Hathaway has publicly acknowledged her pregnancy. Back in November, this source stated that “Anne is in her second trimester and feeling great.”

Being pregnant seems like a natural progression for Anne Hathaway, who has been very open in the past about wanting to have children. During an interview about her performance as Fantine in 2012’s Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway told the Telegraph,

“I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16. I’m 30 and I want to have a family of a certain size. I’ll start with one healthy kid but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know? I’d like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special.”

Anne Hathaway, who is now 33, was also philosophical about her priorities in life. She elaborated on how her goals have changed over the years, too.

“I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby.”

While Anne Hathaway prepares for the role of motherhood, 2016 will see her in a blockbuster movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Tim Burton’s sequel to his 2010 film, Alice in Wonderland. In the movie, Anne Hathaway will play the White Queen, also known as Mirana of Marmoreal. Out in May 2016, Alice Through the Looking Glass is on most people’s most anticipated movies list and, according to Cinema Blend, is most likely to be in the top ten highest grossing movies for 2016.

The end of 2016 will also see Anne Hathaway in a science fiction/thriller movie, Colossal, directed by Ignacio “Nacho” Vigalondo. The action film also stars Dan Stevens and Jason Sudeikis, and wrapped filming in November 2015.

The past year continued to show her power as a leading artist. Hathaway starred beside Robert De Niro in The Intern, a movie role she nearly lost due to her age, the Inquisitr reported.

If her past career is any indication, Anne Hathaway will be able to handle her new role as a mother with excitement and joyousness.
